Abstract:
An electronic component package that provides a high shielding performance and that can prevent failures such as short-circuiting with a component contained therein. A package includes a shield case formed of a metal plate and shaped to have a bottom portion, the bottom portion having a through hole; a resin case molded on inner and outer surfaces of the shield case and shaped to have a bottom portion; and a hot terminal that is insert-molded in the resin case such that the hot terminal is inserted into the shield case through the through hole without contact. One end of the hot terminal is exposed at an inner surface of the resin case, and the other end of the hot terminal is exposed at an outer surface of the resin case. An element contained in the package is surrounded by the shield case so that good shielding performance is obtained.
Abstract:
A solid-state imaging device includes a semiconductor substrate, one or more wiring interlayer films disposed on or above the semiconductor substrate, and one or more metal wires embedded in the wiring interlayer films. The one or more wiring interlayer films are composed of a diffusion preventing material that prevents the diffusion of the metal wire.
Abstract:
A battery charger for charging a battery pack having a battery, a temperature sensor for sensing a temperature of the battery, and a battery terminal. The battery charger includes a charger terminal to which the battery terminal is connected when the battery is charged, a charge current generating circuit that generates a charge current for charging the battery, a battery temperature detector, and a controller. The battery temperature detector is configured to include a circuit, for example, to detect a temperature of the battery while cooperating with the temperature sensor and to output a temperature signal indicative of the temperature of the battery. The controller which is supplied with the temperature signal from the battery temperature detector, corrects the temperature signal, and provides a corrected temperature signal.
Abstract:
A wrist-mounted portable cellular telephone set has its constituent elements separated from each other. Indispensable ones of the elements are collected to form a portable section, which is mountable on a person's wrist. The remaining ones of the elements are collected to form an independent body. As a result, the wrist-mounted portable cellular telephone set is improved in design, comfortableness in wear, and in operability. The independent body forms a stationary section, which is provided with a character input means and separated from the portable section. The portable section is provided with all the function of a cellular phone other than those functions already provided in the stationary section. The wrist-mounted portable cellular telephone set is constructed of the stationary section and the portable section. A character input control signal is transmitted from a character input means of the stationary section to a display panel of the portable section.
Abstract:
An injection molding machine includes a plasticating unit for plasticating a thermoplastic resin, and an injecting unit connected to the plasticating unit through a connecting passage to inject the plasticated resin into a mold. In the connecting passage, provided is a buffering unit for reserving the resin in an amount at least equal to the quantity of the resin injected per one shot. The plasticated resin is temporarily reserved in the buffering unit, and then, the reserved resin is fed to the injecting unit when the measuring is carried out, whereby the plasticating unit can be driven continuously simultaneously with the operation of the injecting unit and the mold. The molding cycle can shortened with the plastication efficiency being enhanced.
Abstract:
An injection molding machine includes a plasticating unit for plasticating a thermoplastic resin, and an injecting unit connected to the plasticating unit through a connecting passage to inject the plasticated resin into a mold. The injecting unit A includes a rotary pump having a suction port connected to the plasticating unit through the connecting passage and a discharge port connected to the mold. The plasticated resin is intermittently injected into the cavity of the mold through the injection port by means of the rotary pump. In the connecting passage, an accumulator is provided which reserves the resin plasticated in the plasticating unit in an amount equal to or more than the shot capacity, and feeds the resin to the rotary pump.
Abstract:
Provided is a rectangular coordinate type robot, in which spaced-apart first tables are provided with respective first moving units that are guided along the first tables, and a second table has its one end connected to the first moving unit provided for one of the first tables and the other end connected to the first moving unit provided for the other first table. The end portions of the second table and the first moving units are connected with each other via connecting members that have a rigidity in the movement direction of the first moving unit and a resiliency in the direction extending along the second table.
Abstract:
A rotary body rotatable about a vertical axis thereof is set at a mounting head. A cam having a cam surface at a lower end thereof is arranged along the periphery of a lower part of the rotary body. Each of outer cylinders is rotatably set in the periphery of the rotary body, wherein each of nozzle shafts with each suction nozzle fitted at lower ends thereof penetrates each outer cylinder in a freely movable manner in an up and down direction. An engaging part for a rotary device is provided at an upper end of each outer cylinder, and an engaging device for the cam is placed at a lower part of each nozzle shaft projecting from a lower end of each outer cylinder.
Abstract:
At least first and second adjacent parts supply tables of a parts supply apparatus are controlled so as to avoid unnecessary movement of a one of the parts supply tables not being used in successive parts supply operations, while at the same time, ensuring that the parts supply tables are sufficiently close to one another at the time of switching over between the parts supply tables to thereby reduce the duration of the switching operation. Alternately, the two parts supply tables are moved together from one position to another to maintain an interval therebetween which allows for a rapid switch-over between the parts supply tables when necessary. However, the rate at which the parts supply table in use is moved is greater than the rate at which the parts supply table not in use is moved, whereby the two parts supply tables come to a rest at different times to thereby reduce impact vibrations.
Abstract:
Photoelectrochemical cells comprising a positive electrode comprised of an n-type conductive semiconductor and a compound capable of reversibly intercalating or deintercalating metal atoms or ions, an ion conductive solid electrolyte layer, a negative electrode, and current collectors for the positive and negative electrodes. The intercalating or deintercalating compound is a Chevrel compound or vornite. The photoelectrochemical cell serves as both solar and secondary cells. Various cell constructions are also described including a multi-layered structure and a two-cell construction.
