Abstract:
The disclosure describes apparatus and methods for including downlink control information (DCI) normally associated with the physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) within a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) to reduce power consumption for a user equipment (UE) operating in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) radio resource control (RRC) connected mode. An enhanced NodeB base station can be configured to generate DCI associated with a future downlink resource assignment or uplink grant for the UE on the PDSCH or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), and then include this DCI within the payload of a current PDSCH communication, such that the PDCCH does not need to be decoded by the UE during a time when DCI for future PDSCH communication is included within a current PDSCH.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to aligning semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) uplink and downlink communications. In one embodiment, a cellular base station may select SPS parameters for a wireless device. The SPS parameters may include a subframe offset, a downlink SPS interval, and an uplink SPS interval. The subframe offset may indicate a subframe at which both an initial downlink subframe and an initial uplink subframe are scheduled. An indication of the SPS parameters may be transmitted to the UE. The wireless device and the cellular base station may perform uplink and downlink communication according to the SPS parameters.
Abstract:
A method and device for decoding packets received via a wireless local area network. The method performed by the device including receiving a packet, the packet including a signal portion and a data portion, verifying the signal portion of the packet is valid, determining if the packet is destined for the device, determining if the packet is a retransmission, combining, when the packet is a retransmission, information from the data portion of the packet with stored information from a previously received packet having a data portion that was not successfully decoded and attempting to decode the packet based at least in part on the information and stored information.
Abstract:
Facilitating multiple subscriber identity support in a wireless user equipment (UE) device. A UE may include or be coupled to multiple subscriber identity modules (SIMs). The UE may be configured to perform cellular communications with a first cellular network using a first subscriber identity provided by a first SIM. The UE may also be configured to perform cellular communications with a second cellular network using a second subscriber identity provided by a second SIM. The cellular communications with the first cellular network and the second cellular network may be performed concurrently using shared radio resources.
Abstract:
A station (STA) of a wireless local area network (WLAN) transitions implicitly between power management (PM) modes or PM states, without providing an explicit indication of the PM mode/state change to an access point (AP) of the WLAN. Transitions include changes between an active mode and a power save (PS) mode, or between an awake state and a doze state of the PS mode. Transitions occur immediately after receipt of a beacon indicating pending data for the STA, after an offset time indicated in the beacon, or at a specific wake time negotiated with the AP. After data reception is complete, the STA transitions implicitly to the PS mode or a doze state of the PS mode, after a power save inactivity timeout period or after receiving an indication that data transmission is complete.

Abstract:
Apparatus and methods are disclosed for performing delayed hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) communications in the downlink (DL) to reduce power consumption for a user equipment (UE) during a connected mode discontinuous reception (C-DRX) cycle. An enhanced NodeB can be configured to monitor a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) for DL HARQ information to determine when the PUCCH contains a negative acknowledgement (NACK) message, and in response to determining that the PUCCH contains a NACK message, the eNodeB can wait until a next C-DRX ON duration to transmit a HARQ DL retransmission. The eNodeB can also determine whether or not to bundle the HARQ DL retransmission in consecutive transmission time intervals, based on a signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) associated with the UE.
Abstract:
A method for offloading data traffic from a cellular connection to a WLAN connection via a wireless P2P connection is disclosed. The method can include the wireless communication device accessing offloading coordination information from an offload coordination service server, including information about at least one neighboring wireless communication device being within sufficient proximity of the wireless communication device to establish a wireless P2P connection and having access to a WLAN access point; using the offloading coordination information to select a relay device from the at least one neighboring wireless communication device; establishing a wireless P2P connection with the relay device; and offloading data traffic from the cellular connection to the wireless P2P connection so that the data traffic is relayed from the relay device to a network via a WLAN access point accessible to the relay device.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for performing multiuser block acknowledgement in a wireless communication protocol. Embodiments include receiving a control frame from an access point (AP). A transmission mode can be determined based on a trigger information field in the control frame. Further, a data frame to acknowledge can be determined based on a block acknowledgement request (BAR) field in the control frame. A block acknowledgment (BA) frame can be generated based on the data frame to acknowledge. The BA frame can then be transmitted to the AP based on the transmission mode, e.g., at the same time another BA frame is transmitted to the AP by another station.
Abstract:
A mobile wireless device adapts receive diversity during discontinuous reception based on downlink signal quality, page indicators and page messages. When the downlink signal quality exceeds a pre-determined threshold, the mobile wireless device decodes a page indicator channel through an initial antenna, and otherwise, decodes a paging channel through the initial antenna without decoding the page indicator channel. The mobile wireless device switches to decoding the paging channel through an alternate antenna when a page indicator decodes as an erasure. When a paging message received through a single antenna decodes with an incorrect error checking code, the mobile wireless devices enables receive diversity through multiple antennas for subsequent decoding. The mobile wireless device switches between single antenna reception and multiple antenna reception based on tracking multiple consecutive error checking code failures and successes.
