Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to determine a transport block size (TBS) is disclosed. The UE can determine a number of assigned resource elements (REs) in one or more symbols for a transport block. The UE can determine a reference number of REs per physical resource block (PRB) in the transport block based on a reference number of REs for the transport block corresponding to each PRB and an assigned number of PRBs for the transport block. The UE can determine a TBS for the transport block based at least on the reference number of REs per PRB in the transport block. The UE can encode information in a selected transport block for transmission via a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) to a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) in accordance with the TBS determined at the UE.

Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate reduced density CSI (Channel State Information)-RS (Reference Signals). One example embodiment can be employed at a UE (User Equipment) and can comprise processing circuitry configured to receive and process a configuration message that comprises one or more configuration parameters for one or more CSI (Channel State Information)-RS (Reference Signal) APs (Antenna Ports) of a configurable density CSI-RS. The configuration parameters indicate a density of CSI-RS resource per Physical Resource Block (PRB) per CSI-RS AP and a PRB offset. The processing circuitry is further configured to determine a set of REs (Resource Elements) for the one or more CSI-RS APs of the configurable density CSI-RS based on the one or more configuration parameters and perform measurements on the configurable density CSI-RS from the set of REs to determine one or more CSI parameters. The one or more configuration parameters are provided per CSI-RS resource configuration.

Abstract: Described is an apparatus of a User Equipment (UE) operable to communicate with a fifth generation Evolved Node-B (gNB) on a wireless network. The apparatus includes a first circuitry and a second circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to determine a first parameter set and a second parameter set for establishing Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) resources. The second circuitry may be operable to process a first part of a PDSCH transmission from a first set of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) layers corresponding with a first Multimedia. Broadcast Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) configuration based on the first parameter set. The second circuitry may also be operable to process a second part of the PDSCH transmission from a second set of MIMO layers corresponding with a second MBSFN configuration based on the second parameter set.

Abstract: Techniques for interference-based beam selection are discussed. One example embodiment employable in a UE (User Equipment) can comprise a processor configured to: determine one or more parameters based on configuration signaling, wherein each of the one or more parameters is associated with at least one of channel measurements, interference measurements, or a beam information report; perform the interference measurements for each of one or more distinct UE beams; calculate a measurement metric for each beam pair of one or more beam pairs based on the interference measurements, wherein each beam pair comprises one of the one or more distinct UE beams and an associated NW (Network) beam; and generate the beam information report comprising the measurement metric for at least one beam pair of the one or more beam pairs.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to perform downlink (DL) channel quality measurement reporting is disclosed. The UE can decode a system information block type y bandwidth reduced (SIBy-BR) received from an eNodeB. The SIB1-BR can instruct the UE to include a DL channel quality measurement report in a message 3 (Msg3) transmitted during a random access procedure between the UE and the eNodeB, wherein y is a positive integer greater than or equal to 1. The UE can determine a DL channel quality measurement for a DL channel between the UE and the eNodeB. The UE can encode the Msg3 for delivery over an uplink channel to the eNodeB. The Msg3 can be delivered during the random access procedure and can include the DL channel quality measurement report with the DL channel quality measurement.

One example embodiment configured to be employed in a UE (User Equipment) comprises a memory; and one or more processors configured to: process higher layer signaling indicating one or more CSI-RS resources associated with a plurality of REs (Resource Elements) comprising a RE for each CSI-RS resource for each of one or more CSI-RS APs (Antenna Ports) in each of a plurality of continuous PRBs (physical resource blocks); process additional higher layer signaling comprising one or more CSI-RS parameters that indicate a subset of the plurality of REs associated with a beamformed CSI-RS transmission; decode one or more CSI-RSs from the indicated subset; and measure one or more CSI parameters based on the decoded one or more CSI-RSs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and circuitries for configuring, measuring, and reporting channel state information are described. In one embodiment, an apparatus for a user equipment device (UE) includes processors configured to determine first channel state information (CSI) reference signal (RS) resource associated with a serving cell for the UE and determine a second CSI-RS resource associated with a non-serving cell for the UE. A first reference signal received in the first CSI-RS resource and a second reference signal received in the second CSI-RS resource are measured. First report quantities characterizing a channel between the UE and the serving cell are calculated based on the measurement of the first reference signal and second report quantities characterizing a channel between the UE and the non-serving cell are calculated based on the measurement of the second reference signal. The first and second report quantities are reported to the serving cell.
