摘要: An apparatus images a surface. An imager stage has a planar surface for supporting a sample. A fiber optic bundle has a first end of parallel first fiber ends that are arranged to define an input aperture for viewing the sample on the imager stage. A distal bundle end is arranged to define an output aperture disposed away from the imager stage. A scanning radiation source scans a radiation beam along a path that is perpendicular to the sample on the imager stage. The input aperture of the fiber optic bundle receives a light signal that is produced by the radiation source scan of the imager stage sample. The light signal is transmitted to the bundle output aperture. A photodetector detects the light signal at the distal bundle end, and a processor processes the detected light.

摘要: An apparatus images a surface. An imager stage linearly translates the surface in a first direction. A light path has a first end defining an input aperture perpendicular to the first direction and parallel to the surface, and a second end defining an output aperture. A plurality of radiation beams linearly scan and interact in time-multiplexed alternating turns with the surface below the input aperture to produce a time-multiplexed light signal that is collected by the input aperture and transmitted by the light path to the output aperture. A photodetector arrangement detects the light signal at the output aperture. A processor processes the detected time-multiplexed light.

摘要: Improved bits for removal of staples and fabric for re-upholstering, one bit having an elongated shaft, proximal end, and distal working end. The proximal end is for insertion into a power tool. The working end includes a blade wider than the shaft and a plurality of beveled teeth. The bottom section of the tool has a longitudinally cambered bottom surface curved upwardly optimizing the striking, removal action. The blade end is transversely cambered, and converging in depth. The designs create tangential application of forces as opposed to only direct linear application.Another embodiment provides a non-symmetrical bit having a distal working end and chisel-type head that transitions into a curved side section, and an opposing straight angled side section. The bit is longitudinally cambered on the bottom surface, for separating legs of the staple without severing them, or snapping legs off from the staple crown.

摘要: A method is provided for preparing a sample containing potential cells of interest and of using a laser of a laser based system for novel excitation and emission collection, and data usage including use of obtained data for direct and ratio based measurements. The prepared sample is configured to emit signals having spectral characteristics sufficient to permit filtering to differentiate and eliminate most false positives from true positives among acquired imaging events, in an imaging system employing a laser spot having a range of diameters from 1 to 20 μm or greater and which excites the fluorescence in a conventional or novel manner. These filtered events may be subsequently imaged and confirmed with another higher resolution device such as a fluorescent microscope in a short amount of time.

摘要: An apparatus for separating ribs, namely the spare ribs, from a pork carcass belly, referred to as a rib lifter. The rib lifter automatically cuts and removes the spare ribs from a pork belly immediately following the process where the loin and baby back ribs have previously been removed. The part that needs to be removed from the pork belly consists of the brisket bone along with the additional ribs. The rib lifter detects the rib height and adjusts the rib blade to cut immediately below the ribs without nicking the rib material or going too deep in creating what is known in the industry as a “snowball,” a large white spot on the belly, thus making it unsalable.

摘要: A contour-following loin puller for separating the loin from the belly through the finger lean. The contour-following loin puller follows the contour of the surface rib line through at least one rib height sensor and positions the z-blade relative to the surface rib line. The contour-following loin puller offers the ability to greatly increase yield by automating the separation of the loin and the belly to produce finger lean even on thin, soft or nearly frozen product which is very difficult to manipulate manually.

摘要: An apparatus for defining a loop handle in a tubular covering, such as an expanded mesh plastic covering, for a food. The apparatus of the present invention includes a frame for supporting the various assemblies that comprise the apparatus and for engaging a support surface such as a floor. The apparatus of the present invention further includes a conveyor assembly, which conveys the food product from a production line and into the slide area or chute. Positioned proximate the distal end of the chute is a voider assembly defined by a stationary set of voider gates and a moveable set of voider gates. Further, the apparatus of the present invention includes a handle formation assembly for engaging the compressed cord of tubular covering and forming the compressed cord into a loop handle and a clipper device for engaging the handle formation assembly, and the engaged compressed cord of tubular covering and securing two clips to the cord, one to secure the bottom of the tubular covering for the previously processed food product, and one to secure the loop handle and for severing the compressed cord of tubular covering at a point disposed between the two securing clips.
