摘要： The use of S(−)sodium 2-(4-isobutylphenyl)propionate (the sodium salt of S(+)-ibuprofen) in pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of inflammation, pain and pyrexia is described. Preferred compositions comprise S(−)sodium 2-(4-isobutylphenyl)propionate dihydrate. Processes to prepare S(−)sodium 2-(4-isobutyl-phenyl)propionate and its use in a process to prepare S(+) 2-(4-isobutylphenyl)propionic acid of high enantiomeric purity are also described.

摘要： A method and apparatus for welding with an engine driven inverter power supply includes generating an ac output with an engine and generator. The output is rectified and inverted to provide an ac inverter output. The engine is controlled using feedback indicative of a welding output operating parameter. The feedback may also be taken from the inverter or generator, and the generator may be controlled instead of or in addition to the engine. Engine parameters that may be controlled include engine speed, selecting between an idle speed and a run speed, a throttle position, a fuel pump, an injection timer, a fuel to air ratio, fuel consumption and ignition timing. Another aspect of the invention is having the feedback be responsive to one or more of the welding current, welding voltage, welding power, or functions thereof. The feedback may be responsive to the current, voltage, power, ripple and functions thereof. An aux power output is derived directly from the generator and feedback from the aux load is used to determine if the engine should be idling or running at high speed.

摘要： An appointment booking and scheduling system is described, for booking appointments with operatives (e.g. service engineers) visiting customer sites within a defined geographic area. The system includes a table for storing a number of routes, each of which specifies a sequence of regions to be visited by a particular operative, and jobs to be performed by the operative in each of the regions. An appointment server is provided for offering appointments at specified times, using the table to check for availability of operatives in specified regions at specified times, and for inserting new jobs in the routes to reflect booked appointments. A scheduler periodically updates the routes e.g by means of a simulated annealing process, to generate a new set of routes.

摘要： A rheological additive for non-aqueous coating compositions is disclosed. The additive may be the reaction product of an alkoxylated aliphatic nitrogen-containing compound, an aliphatic diamine or mixtures thereof, and an organic polycarboxylic anhydride or acid, an alkanediol polyepoxide ether, or mixtures thereof. The additive provides excellent anti-sag and storage stability properties, particularly for high solids coating compositions, without causing a significant increase in viscosity. Also disclosed are coating compositions containing the additive.

摘要： Apparatus for stacking conical objects includes right hand and left hand side walls which are joined by divergent walls to define a tapering horizontal cross-section column in which the spacing between the opposite walls is shorter than the length of any one of the conical objects. The conical objects can be placed manually in the top of the column 1 but only in a given orientation (thanks to the tapering horizontal cross-section of the column) and only when hooked on a retaining finger projecting into the column through the side wall. The conical object at the top of the stack thus settles into an inclined orientation which it retains when the retaining finger is released to drop the cone down the column, thanks to an inertia brake to retard the wider diameter end of the falling cone and preventing the cone from becoming vertical. The retaining finger at the foot of the column releases only the bottom cone and allows any cones above it to become indexed downwardly into the bottom-most position.

A package tray is provided which in an operative position retains the package out of contact with a package driving roller against the effect of a restoring force tending to move the package into driving contact with the driving roller. Retraction of the tray to an inoperative position so as to enable the package to be brought into contact with the driving roller is effected by reducing the restoring force.Preferably, the invention includes open-end spinning means for producing the yarn and retraction of the tray to the inoperative position takes place during a yarn piecing-up procedure.
