Abstract: A fifth-generation core network (5GC) provides 5G radio access network (RAN) services to a user equipment (UE) in a time-sensitive communications (TSC) network (TSN). This includes receiving a protocol data unit (PDU) session establishment request from the UE, the PDU session establishment request including an industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) vertical or application type, identifying a TSN application function (AF) relating to the IIoT vertical or application type, determining quality of service (QoS) parameters for communications between the UE and the 5G RAN based on the identified TSN AF, the QoS parameters including a survival time for the IIoT vertical or application type and establishing a PDU session with the UE when the QoS parameters including the survival time are satisfied.

In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) receives first data from a network via unicast, receives first information from the network, the first information indicating the availability of a multicast service, transmits second information to the network and receives second data from the network via multicast in response to transmitting the second information to the network. In another aspect, a UE receives first information from the network, the first information indicating the availability of a multicast service, receives first data from the network via a multicast session and receives second data from the network via a unicast packet data unit (PDU) session.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) indicates to a network the types of SMS messages that the UE does not support. The network receives an indication from the UE corresponding to one or more types of short message service (SMS) messages that are supported by the UE, receives a SMS that is intended to be delivered to the UE, determines whether to forward the SMS message to the UE based on the indication received from the UE, when the SMS message is a type of SMS message supported by the UE, forwards the SMS message to the UE and, when the SMS message is not a type of SMS message supported by the UE, discards the SMS message.

Abstract: A device providing inter-device call continuity facilitated by a wireless audio output device may include a processor configured to initiate, over a peer-to-peer connection with a second device, a communication session between the second device and a third device. The processor may be further configured to establish, over the peer-to-peer connection with the second device, an audio link corresponding to the communication session. The processor may be further configured to determine, based at least in part on the audio link, that a connection quality of the peer-to-peer connection satisfies a connection degradation condition. The processor may be further configured to request, over a wide area network connection, for the communication session with the third device to be handed-off from the second device to the first device, and to establish, over the wide area network connection, the communication session with the third device.

The method includes determining the connectivity status of the device. When the connectivity status indicates that the device has established the first connection, the method includes utilizing a camp-only mode to monitor the second network, the camp-only mode reducing a frequency of at least one type of operation associated with the second network, the camp-only mode configured to retain a capability of determining whether an emergency message is being broadcast over the second network.

Abstract: A device and method for a user equipment (UE) to implement power savings mechanisms when operating within a significant location. The UE identifies that the UE is at a significant location. The significant location is a location relative to a currently camped cell of a network. At a first time and at the significant location, the UE performs a type of operation related to the network connection. The UE stores information corresponding to the performance of the type of operation at the first time in a profile associated with the significant location. At a second time and at the significant location, the UE performs the type of operation related to the network connection. The performance of the type of operation at the second time is modified based on the information stored in the profile associated with the significant location.
