Abstract: An approach is described that includes receiving a CSI report, where the CSI report includes a channel quality indicator (CQI), a rank indicator (RI), and a precoding matrix indicator (PMI). The approach further includes constructing a precoding matrix based on a linear combination of a plurality of mutually orthogonal digital Fourier transformation (DFT) spatial beams, and determining a number of bits for the PMI of the precoding matrix. The approach also includes determining a space frequency matrix based, at least in part, on the number of bits for the PMI and the precoding matrix, and compressing the space frequency matrix. Finally, the approach includes determining a compressed PMI based, at least in part, on the space frequency matrix.

Abstract: Described is an apparatus of a User Equipment (UE) operable to communicate with a fifth generation Evolved Node-B (gNB) on a wireless network. The apparatus may comprise a first circuitry and a second circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to determine a first parameter set and a second parameter set for establishing Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) resources. The second circuitry may be operable to process a first part of a PDSCH transmission from a first set of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) layers corresponding with a first Multimedia Broadcast Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) configuration based on the first parameter set. The second circuitry may also be operable to process a second part of the PDSCH transmission from a second set of MIMO layers corresponding with a second MBSFN configuration based on the second parameter set.

Abstract: Techniques for measuring CSI (Channel State Information) based on beamformed CSI-RS having reduced overhead are discussed. One example embodiment configured to be employed in a UE (User Equipment) comprises a memory; and one or more processors configured to: process higher layer signaling indicating one or more CSI-RS resources associated with a plurality of REs (Resource Elements) comprising a RE for each CSI-RS resource for each of one or more CSI-RS APs (Antenna Ports) in each of a plurality of continuous PRBs (physical resource blocks); process additional higher layer signaling comprising one or more CSI-RS parameters that indicate a subset of the plurality of REs associated with a beamformed CSI-RS transmission; decode one or more CSI-RSs from the indicated subset; and measure one or more CSI parameters based on the decoded one or more CSI-RSs.

A described technique includes receiving, at a user equipment (UE), a CSI configuration and a codebook configuration, the codebook configuration specifying a codebook; determining a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) that specifies a precoding matrix associated with the codebook, wherein the precoding matrix is based on spatial-domain (SD) vectors and linear combining coefficients; and transmitting CSI report containing the PMI in accordance with the CSI configuration.

Abstract: Techniques for full duplex operation of base stations and/or user equipments (UEs) are discussed. One example embodiment comprises one or more processors of a UE configured to: process control messages that comprise a downlink assignment for the UE and an uplink grant for the UE during a subframe in a frequency band, wherein the downlink assignment indicates a first set of UE subarrays, and wherein the uplink grant indicates a second set of UE subarrays; process downlink data received via transceiver circuitry via the first set of UE subarrays, wherein the downlink data is received from a first base station during the subframe via the frequency band; and output uplink data to the transceiver circuitry for transmission via the second set of UE subarrays, wherein the uplink data is output for transmission to a second base station during the subframe via the frequency band.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to assist a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) for beamforming is disclosed. The UE can determine a covariance matrix for a channel between the UE and the gNB. The UE can quantize the covariance matrix to obtain a quantized covariance matrix. The quantized covariance matrix can include M best diagonal entries that are selected from the covariance matrix, wherein M is an integer. The UE can encode the quantized covariance matrix as feedback for transmission to the gNB.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable for channel state information (CSI) reporting for selected bandwidth parts is disclosed. The UE can be configured to decode CSI reporting parameters for one or more bandwidth parts (BWPs). The UE can be configured to calculate CSI for the one or more BWPs based on measurements from the one or more BWPs and the CSI reporting parameters for the one or more BWPs. The UE can be configured to generate one or more CSI reports for the one or more BWPs based on measurements from the one or more BWPs and the CSI reporting parameters for the one or more BWPs. The UE can be configured to encode the one or more CSI reports using the one or more BWPs.

Abstract: Herein described are apparatuses, systems, and methods for measurement and reporting of channel state information within wireless network systems. In embodiments, an apparatus for a user equipment (UE) may include memory to store a rank indicator (RI), a precoding matrix index (PMI), and a channel quality indicator (CQI) of channel state information (CSI) for the UE. The apparatus may further include circuitry to concatenate the RI, the PMI, and the CQI to produce a concatenated CSI element, generate a CSI report that includes the concatenated CSI element, and cause the CSI report to be transmitted to a base station within a single slot. Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for framework of layer 1 signal-to-interference plus noise ratio (L1-SINR) measurement and reporting based on channel measurement and interference measurement. The channel measurement is performed on a first set of reference signal (RS) resources, and the interference measurement is performed on a second set of RS resources. Each of the second set of RS resources is mapped to each of the first set of RS resources. The L1-SINR is determined from a first RS resource of the first set of RS resources and a second RS resource of the send set of RS resources, where the first RS resource is mapped to the second RS resource. A message including the L1-SINR is generated and transmitted to the access node.
