摘要: A control system, computer, method and computer program that imposes a monitoring load to the extent necessary to carry out pattern analysis on the operation of a system and failure analysis and does not apply any excessive monitoring load. The invention includes an interface for receiving an operation performance metric value of each of a plurality of first monitored items from a monitored computer, and a control section for, based on the operation performance metric value of each first monitored item, determining a second monitored item whose data should be obtained and instructing the monitored computer to obtain an operation performance metric value of the second monitored item which is associated with each first monitored item.

摘要: Infrared spectroscopy for rapidly identifying the kind of a plastic product on the spot. The surface of the plastic product is partially pyrolyzed in a quite short time to produce pyrolysis product gas. The gas is introduced into an infrared spectrophotometer to obtain an infrared absorption spectrum of the gas. The spectrum is collated with a pyrolysis infrared absorption spectrum of a standard sample. Thus, the plastic is identified. A heating probe comprising a heat radiation emitter mounted in the body of the probe, an opening formed in the body of the probe, an aperture formed in the body and located opposite to the opening, a reflecting mirror for directing the radiation into the opening, and a conduit for connecting thin ports in the probe with the spectrophotometer and with an external carrier gas source. The heat radiation emitter emits heat radiation for pyrolyzing the surface of the plastic product. The mirror is located near the aperture.

摘要: A cellular radio system comprises a plurality of basic stations each having a radio transceiver serving a cell of the system. A mobile station of the invention has a radio transceiver for communicating with one or other of the base stations, as well as long term averaging units (LTA.sub.0, LTA.sub.1, LTA.sub.N) for time averaging handover criterion (HOC) measurements over a first averaging period. The mobile station also includes a summer (S.sub.N) for applying a first hysteresis margin to the time averaged HOC measurements to provide a first handover indicator. The mobile station also includes short term averaging units (STA.sub.0, STA.sub.1, STA.sub.N) for time averaging HOC measurements over a second averaging period which is relatively short compared to the first averaging period, as well as a summer (S.sub.W) for applying a second hysteresis margin, which is relatively large compared to the first hysteresis margin, to the time averaged HOC measurements to provide a second handover indicator. The mobile station further includes a gate (OR.sub.1) for assessing handover requirements of the mobile station on the basis of the first and second handover indicators, whereby on the one hand relatively gradual variations in HOC can be assessed and on the other hand relatively sudden variations in HOC can also be assessed.

摘要: To create one pool by using a plurality of storage apparatuses and to provide virtual volumes common to each of the storage apparatuses to the server. The respective logical volumes 220 which the plurality of storage apparatuses 10 (i) to (3) comprise are mutually connected. The respective logical volumes are managed in the one pool 230. The virtual volumes 240 are created by utilizing the storage area in the pool. Each of the storage apparatuses shares at least part of the management information related to the page assignment for the virtual volumes with the other storage apparatuses.

摘要: A management server is provided in a computer system having one or more hosts, one or more storage systems and one or more switches, the hosts having a plurality of virtual machines, each virtual machine being defined according to a service level agreement. The management server is operable to manage the virtual machines and resources associated with the virtual machines; receive a notification of an event from a node in the computer system; determine if the event affects a service level agreement for any of the virtual machines defined in the computer system, the service level agreements listing required attributes for the corresponding virtual machines; allocate a new resource for a virtual machine whose service level agreement is affected by the event; and move the virtual machine whose service level agreement is affected by the event to the newly allocated resource.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention include first storage mediums having first storage characteristics for making up a first pool of capacity of a first tier of storage, and second storage mediums having second storage characteristics for making up a second pool of capacity of a second tier of storage. Free capacity of the first and second pools is shared between the first and second tiers of storage. When the first pool has an amount of free capacity available over a reserved amount of free capacity reserved for first tier data, a first quantity of second tier data is moved from the second tier to the first tier. In exemplary embodiments of the invention, the first and second storage mediums are contained within one or more thin provisioning storage systems, and data is moved between the first and second tiers by allocating thin provisioning chunks to the data being moved.
