Abstract: The present disclosure provides a solution for video processing. A method for video processing comprises: selecting, for a conversion between a current video block of a video and a bitstream of the video, a target scheme from a plurality of candidate schemes for adjusting a merge candidate for the current video block; and performing the conversion based on the target scheme, wherein the plurality of candidate schemes comprise at least one of a first set of candidate schemes and a second set of candidate schemes, in each of the first set of candidate schemes, a first motion vector (MV) of the merge candidate is adjusted with a first motion vector difference (MVD), and a second MV of the merge candidate is kept unadjusted, in each of the second set of candidate schemes, the second MV is adjusted with a second MVD, and the first MV is kept unadjusted.

Abstract: A method for video processing is proposed. The method comprises: constructing a merge candidate list for a target block of a video in a template matching (TM) merge mode: reordering the merge candidate list for the target block; and performing a conversion between the target block and a bitstream of the video based on the reordered merge candidate list. Compared with the conventional solution, the proposed method can advantageously improve the coding effectiveness and coding efficiency.

The method comprises: constructing, during a conversion between a target block of a video and a bitstream of the video, a list of template matching (TM) merge candidates for the target block in a TM merge mode; reordering a TM merge candidate in the list of TM merge candidates based on a determination whether a first condition is satisfied to perform TM refinement for the TM merge candidate and a second condition is satisfied to perform decoder-side motion vector refinement (DMVR) or multi-pass DMVR for the TM merge candidate; and performing the conversion based on the reordered TM merge candidate. Compared with the conventional solution, the proposed method can advantageously improve the coding effectiveness and coding efficiency.

The method comprises: obtaining a first reference picture list (RPL) for a target picture of a video; determining a set of candidate pictures from a plurality of coded pictures of the video, each of the set of candidate pictures having a same temporal layer identity (ID) as the target picture; obtaining a second RPL based on the set of candidate pictures and the first RPL; and performing a conversion between the target picture and a bitstream of the video based on the second RPL. Compared with the conventional solution, the proposed method can advantageously improve the coding efficiency.
