    摘要: An embodiment is directed to an access network that configures set of paging indicator (PI) bits within a quick paging channel (QPCH) cycle to page a group of access terminals. An access terminal within the group receives the QPCH cycle, and evaluates the PI bits to determine whether a unicast page and/or group page is present. Another embodiment is directed to selecting less than all timeslots in one or more control channel cycles of a downlink control channel, and configuring a page message to convey the selected timeslots to an access terminal. The access terminal receives the configured page message and decodes information only within the selected timeslots. Another embodiment is directed to generating a transport-layer message for transmission to at least one access terminal, and configuring the transport-layer message by modifying an application-layer portion of the transport-layer message. An access terminal receives the message and extracts the application-layer portion.

    摘要: A mobile device provides first information to an access point over an out-of-band wireless link. The access point uses the first information to coarsely synchronize with a macrocell base station. The access point transmits a low power pilot signal that is formed using a pseudo-random noise (PN) sequence. The mobile device uses the out-of-band wireless link to provide second information to the access point that indicates a PN phase of the pilot signal with respect to a reference time point. The access point uses the second information to finely synchronize with the macrocell base station. The mobile device communicates with a mobile operator core network through the access point using an in-band wireless link to the access point. The mobile device compensates for propagation delay when obtaining time information. The mobile device provides additional information to the access point, which the access point uses to adjust for continued clock drift.

The UE configures a data session activation request message to include an indication of an association with communication sessions of a given type (e.g., delay-sensitive communication sessions), and then transmits the data session activation request message to an access network. The access network determines to establish an aggressive paging cycle of a downlink channel for the UE based in part upon receiving a message (e.g., which can be different than the data session activation request message) that conveys the indication of the association to the access network. The access network sends at least one instruction for facilitating an allocation of the aggressive paging cycle to the UE, and the UE receives the at least one instructions and monitors the downlink channel accordingly.

The access terminal monitors data on a first downlink broadcast channel of a first network at least with a primary antenna of the access terminal, the monitored data associated with an active communication session (e.g., a high-priority multicast communication session) of the access terminal. The access terminal may optionally periodically monitor messaging information on a downlink channel of a second network with a secondary antenna of the access terminal, the primary antenna having a higher sensitivity than the secondary antenna. The access terminal maintains an exclusive allocation of the primary antenna to the first network irrespective of a quality level of the periodically monitored messaging information on the downlink channel of the second network.
