Embodiments of a vehicle interior system are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the system includes a base with a curved surface, and a display or touch panel disposed on the curved surface. The display includes a cold-bent glass substrate with a thickness of 1.5 mm or less and a first radius of curvature of 20 mm or greater, and a display module and/or touch panel attached to the glass substrate having a second radius of curvature that is within 10% of the first radius of curvature. Methods for forming such systems are also disclosed.

The deadfront article also includes a semi-transparent layer disposed onto the second surface of the substrate. The semi-transparent layer has a region of a solid color or of a design of two or more colors, and the semi-transparent layer has a first optical density. Further, the deadfront article includes a contrast layer disposed onto the region. The contrast layer is configured to enhance visibility of the color(s) of the semi-transparent layer.

When an impactor having a mass of 6.8 kg impacts the first major surface at an impact velocity of 5.35 m/s to 6.69 m/s, the deceleration of the impactor is 120 g (g-force) or less.

Dynamically adjustable display systems for adjusting the position of a flexible display in response to ambient light. The display system includes a flexible display that is capable of reversibly bending along one or more bending axes. The display system further includes an adjustable support on which the flexible display is mounted, the adjustable support being able to selectively bend the flexible display. The display system includes photodetectors for detecting ambient light. The photodetectors may be positioned about a perimeter of the flexible display. A control unit in communication with the adjustable support and the plurality of photodetectors may cause the adjustable support to bend the flexible display in response to ambient light detected at the plurality of photodetectors.
Abstract:
In some embodiments, a process comprises applying an adhesive layer to a substrate having a developable shape. The process further comprises initially applying a force to press a thin glass layer against the adhesive layer along a generation line. The generation line moves across the substrate to cold-form the thin glass layer into the shape of the substrate, while maintaining the application of force on areas of the substrate over which the generation line has passed. The application of force is maintained on areas of the substrate over which the generation line has passed until the adhesive cures.
