摘要: In some embodiments, a display system comprises a set of reflective or semi-reflective elements. A display emits light such that one portion of the light travels a first path through the display system, and another portion travels a second path, which includes a reflection from a windshield. The two portions form virtual images that are simultaneously viewable in a headbox. In some embodiments, the source of light that forms the image is an ambient source, and the display system is at least in part a sunlight-driven display system. In some embodiments, virtual images have a monocular depth that is far from a viewer. In some embodiments, the virtual images are closer to a viewer, and a gesture camera captures information about gestures made by a viewer, said gestures modifying the virtual images or some property or dynamics of the vehicle.

The display regions display a predetermined design on a front surface of the skin layer by light irradiated from the back side. Light is irradiated from the back side to the display regions via the soft layer. Light blocking partition parts of the soft layer are each disposed between two adjacent display regions as seen from the front side, and prevent light to be irradiated to one display region from leaking into the other display region via the soft layer.

摘要: Reflections from a display device are controlled using retarders arranged on the output side of a display panel which outputs light with a predetermined polarization state. First and second planes of incidence are defined in respect of first and second rays of light output from the device and first and second normals to first and second surfaces of optically transmissive material at first and second points at which the first and second rays of light are reflected. The retarders are selected to cause the polarization state of the first ray to be linearly polarized in a direction that is in the first plane of incidence, and to cause the polarization state of the second ray to be linearly polarized in a direction that is in the second plane of incidence. The reflections from the surfaces are minimized because for both surfaces the polarization direction is in-plane.

The smart surface provided by the present application can reduce the obstruction of the image caused by the decorative pattern by providing the AG fluorescent film.

摘要: A display device includes a light emitting element disposed in a region adjacent to a transflective object in a vehicle and a light controlling means disposed on a route that a first light and a second light emitted from the light emitting element propagate. The first light is controlled to propagate out of the display device at a first angle ranged from 30 to 45 degrees and toward the transflective object and the second light is controlled to propagate out of the display device at a second angle ranged from 0 to 5 degrees. The first angle and the second angle are between a normal direction of the display device and the first light and the second light controlled through the light controlling means respectively. A first ratio of a light intensity of the first light to that of the second light is less than or equal to 14%.
