    Abstract: A wasting station for receiving a wasted medication from a medication dispenser is provided. The wasting station includes a base and a locking mechanism. The base includes a weight sensor to measure a weight of a waste container supported by the base. The wasting station can determine, based on the measured weight, a volume of the wasted medication positioned within the waste container. The locking mechanism includes a first end coupled to the base. The locking mechanism also includes a second end coupled to the waste container when the locking mechanism is in a first position and decoupled from the waste container when the locking mechanism moves from the first position to a second position, thereby allowing for removal of the waste container.

    Abstract: A method for remotely witnessing a medical workflow is provided. The method includes authenticating a clinician at a witnessing device. The method also includes receiving, at the witnessing device, a request to perform a medical workflow. The method further includes determining, at the witnessing device and based at least in part on the medical workflow, that a witness is required to observe the medical workflow. The method also includes initiating, at a witnessing client remotely coupled with the witnessing device, a witnessing session, wherein the witnessing client allows a witness to remotely observe the medical workflow. The method also includes enabling, in response to at least the initiation of the witnessing session, completion of the medical workflow. Related systems and articles of manufacture, including apparatuses and computer program products, are also disclosed.

    Abstract: A locking cap assembly includes an upper housing; a lower housing rotatably connected to the upper housing and configured to be fitted onto a container; a near field communication (NFC) module configured to wirelessly receive a NFC input; an inductive charging coil; a microprocessor; and a latching mechanism, the latching mechanism includes a locking latch configured to prevent the upper housing and the lower housing from rotating with respect to each other; and an electrical actuation component configured to lock and unlock the latch and a current generated by the inductive charging coil. The lower housing includes a plurality of locking vanes within the lower housing, the locking vanes being configured to variably define an inner diameter size of the lower housing responsive to a rotation of the upper housing with respect to the lower housing when the lower housing is mechanically engaged with the container.

    Abstract: An integrated intravenous (IV) administration set includes a flow stop having a tubing fitment and a housing, the flow stop configured, in a first position, to prevent a flow of a fluid through the tubing, and in a second position, to permit the flow of the fluid through the tubing, the tubing fitment comprising a protrusion configured to receive a tubing. The IV administration set also includes an electronic flow sensor disposed within the housing, the electronic flow sensor configured to measure a flow of a fluid in the tubing, and one or more conductive connections configured within the housing and configured to provide electrical power to the electronic flow sensor. The flow stop is shaped to be loaded and engaged to a receptacle of an infusion device, and shaped to cause, when loaded and engaged, the one or more conductive connections to engage with a corresponding conductive connection provided by the infusion device to activate the flow sensor based on a power flow from the infusion device.

    Abstract: A method may include capturing, by a camera at an infusion pump, one or more images of the pump loaded with an infusion set. A machine learning model may be applied to the images to detect nonconformities that may be present in the images of the pump loaded with the infusion set. Examples of nonconformities include a misload of the intravenous set in which an upper fitment, a lower fitment, and/or a tubing of the intravenous set is misplaced within the pump. In response to an output of the machine learning model indicating a presence of a nonconformity in the one or more images of the pump loaded with the infusion set, a corrective action may be performed. For example, the pump may be prevented from performing an infusion and a message identifying the nonconformities may be generated. Related methods and articles of manufacture are also disclosed.

A method includes providing an interactive storage device for attaching to a bin, and outputting, via an audiovisual element, a visual representation of a local inventory of the bin, receiving a user input, determining a change to the local inventory according to the user input, updating the local inventory in a non-volatile data store according to the change, synchronizing the local inventory with one or more nodes via a communication interface, and receiving, from the one or more nodes via the communication interface, periodic updates for a local cache comprising locations and inventories of one or more remote bins.
