Abstract:
A communication channel setting method and a communication channel selection method for an electronic device are provided. The communication channel setting method measures the interference between two communication protocols implemented on the same electronic device and stores threshold values and a look-up table obtained from the measurements in the electronic device. Next, the electronic device executes the channel selection method. The channel selection method selects usable channels of one of the two communication protocols according to the threshold values and the look-up table, thereby preventing or alleviating the interference between the communication protocols.
Abstract:
An identification method for an electronic system having a plurality of input devices includes establishing notations corresponding to the plurality of input devices, receiving a control signal outputted by a specific input device of the plurality of input devices, and displaying a notation corresponding to the specific input device on a display device.
Abstract:
A method for protecting data, adapted for a computer system, is provided. The computer system includes a storage device. The method includes: when the computer system executes a power-off procedure, inspecting whether a preset external storage device is connected to the computer system; if it is determined that the preset external storage device is connected to the computer system, when the computer system executes the power-off procedure, backing up data of a predetermined segment of the storage device to the preset external storage device, and generating a back-up data, and then writing a specific data template to the predetermined segment for covering original data of the predetermined segment.
Abstract:
A method and system for maintaining a System Management BIOS (SMBIOS) in a computer system is provided. According to the proposed method and system, the BIOS of the computer system is updated first. The reserved SMBIOS information pre-stored in a memory unit is then stored into the BIOS of the computer system after the BIOS is updated. While the computer system is restarted, the reserved SMBIOS information can be written back into the rebuilt SMBIOS block.
Abstract:
Example embodiments disclosed herein relate to selectively connecting an interconnect bus to an expansion slot. A first chip is connected to a first interconnect bus. A second chip is connected to a second interconnect bus. A switch selectively connects the first interconnect bus to one of a plurality of expansion slots.
Abstract:
A channel selection method and electronic device thereof are provided. In the channel selection method, usable channels of a second communication protocol are selected according to a used channel number of a first communication protocol, and one of the usable channels is selected according to the numbers of wireless access points, thereby preventing or alleviating the interference between the first communication protocol and the second communication protocol.

Abstract:
A data protection method for an electronic device having a storage medium is provided, wherein the storage medium includes a plurality of partitions and a partition table. In the data protection method, a partition entry point and a partition data corresponding to the specific partition are captured and sent to an external storage device when the electronic device enters a shutdown process. Then, the partition entry point is deleted from the partition table and the partition data is removed from the storage medium. When the electronic device is turned on, a user has to provide the corresponding external storage device to restore the partition entry point and the partition data back to the storage medium. Thereby, personal data stored in the storage medium is protected and accordingly data security is ensured.
Abstract:
A quick image capture system for a notebook computer able to capture the images while the notebook computer does not launch an operation system is described. The quick image capture system includes a hot key, a read-only memory, a central processing unit, a chip set, a random-access memory, a video module and a camera module. The read-only memory stores a driving software. When the hot key is triggered, the central processing unit reads the driving software from the read-only memory and executes the driving software so as to enable the video module, display and the camera module by the chip set.
Abstract:
A power supply system installed in a portable electronic apparatus includes a plurality of receiving ends, a selection unit, a power control unit, and a power converting unit. The plurality of receiving ends is coupled to a plurality of power sources of the portable electronic apparatus. The selection unit is coupled to the plurality of receiving ends for selecting an input power from the plurality of power sources. The power control unit is utilized for generating an output power control signal according to an input signal. The power converting unit is utilized for converting the input power into an output power to a power port according to the output power control signal.
