摘要： A light collimating and diffusing film and a method for making the film are provided. The film includes a plastic layer having a first side and a second side opposite the first side and at least a first peripheral edge. The first side has a first textured surface, wherein between 7 to 20 percent of slope angles on the first textured surface proximate a first axis has a value between zero and five degrees. The first axis is substantially parallel to the first peripheral edge. The plastic layer collimates light propagating therethrough.

摘要： The color stability of a multilayer article comprising a top layer and and a substrate layer is enhanced by the addition of at least one unstable yellow colorant and optionally, at least one stable chromatic colorant to the top layer. The substrate layer includes a scattering white pigment and optionally, at least one stable chromatic colorant. Methods for making the aforementioned multilayer article are also provided in the present invention.

摘要： An article comprising a surface portion is provided. The surface portion has a plurality of primary features, and the primary features have a height dimension in the range from about I micron to about 500 microns, an aspect ratio in the range from about 0.5 to about 10, and a spacing dimension in the range from about 0.5 to about 50 feature width units. The surface portion comprising the features has a wettability of the surface sufficient to generate, with a reference fluid, a static contact angle of greater than about 120 degrees and a total transmission of at least about 70% in the visible range of electromagnetic radiation.

摘要： Methods to reduce the inherent color contribution of a top layer in a multi-layer article (10) are disclosed. The articles produced thereby have reduced yellowing and thus lower amounts of color compensating pigments and dyes must be added in order to achieve the desired color of the article. The multi-layer material (10) includes a surface film (12), a substrate (14) and an intermediate layer (13) therebetween.
