Abstract: Devices, processes, systems, and articles of manufacture adapted to treat contaminated fluid, such as organic wastewater, are described. These are described to include lifting contaminated fluids, treating contaminated fluids, or both, through gas application. In certain designs, gas, such as pressurized air, may be used to lift contaminated fluids, such as organic wastewater (i.e., water having contaminating organics of some kind, e.g. residential septic wastewater). In certain designs, gas, such as pressurized air, may also be used to treat fluids interfacing with the gas.

Abstract: The leach field of a septic type sewage system is heated by various means, to raise the temperature and increase biochemical activity in the influence zone of leach field conduits. The capacity for waste water treatment is thus increased or restored. Heating is achieved by alternative means, including by flowing hot air through the leach field conduit and into the influence zone, and by delivering heat directly to the influence zone by means of heat elements embedded in or near the influence zone. The temperature in the influence zone is raised by 1-5° F. or more, preferably to the range 50-100° F. A dedicated, non-dedicated or geothermal heat source may be used. Heat loss upwardly through the soil is inhibited by insulation on the soil surface.

Abstract: Wastewater settlement and purification are described. These descriptions include purification of organically contaminated wastewater in aerobically maintained processes and anaerobically maintained processes. The wastewater may flow from aerobic processing zones to anaerobic processing zones to subsequent anaerobic or aerobic processing zones. Anaerobic processing may be promoted by accumulating the wastewater above a barrier and then flowing the wastewater below a curtain and then back up and over edges of the barrier for subsequent purification, discharge, environmental recharge and/or reuse.
