Abstract:
A portable printer which can be removably attached to a variety of models and types of portable devices, such as Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), cell phones, or other terminal devices. The portable devices can be attached to the portable printer via a clip-on adapter, thereby providing a universal clip-on printer. The adapter can take on a variety of shapes to hold the device and is unique for the model and type of each portable device, and contains mating electronic interconnectivity to electrically, wirelessly, or optically connect the portable device to the portable printer to enable communication between the portable device and the portable printer. The portable device connected to the portable printer can operate the portable printer in a controlling relationship.
Abstract:
Method and system for obtaining and using observed market rates in estimating suitable market-based compensation for one or more jobs. Each observed market rate is assigned a job family and a combination of a job category and a job level of responsibility (C/L). Median market rates and average market rates are observed for different job families and are combined in a novel way to produce job family factors and C/L factors that, when multiplied together accurately reflect market rates for that job, even for a combination of job family and job C/L that is not represented in the data.
Abstract:
A distributor insert screen cover adapted for use both as a particulate bay screen cover and as a lightweight and stable distributor insert stand. A screen is provided in multiple panels that span portions of an open, particulate bay top wall. The panels may be fitted together when removed from the particulate bay to form a stand having a footprint or base of sufficient width to provide improved stability and to allow support of the distributor insert at a height sufficient to allow suspension of a lowly disposed release element above the ground. Simplified versions having fewer or alternative stand components are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A horse safety assembly includes a blanket that is draped over an animal. The blanket is comprised of an electrically conductive material. An insulator is coupled to the blanket and the insulator rests on the animal when the blanket is positioned on the animal. The insulator is comprised of an electrically insulating material. A plurality of straps is provided and each of the straps is coupled to the blanket. Each of the straps is selectively matable to each other to retain the blanket on the animal. A shock unit is coupled to the blanket and the shock unit is in electrical communication with the blanket. The shock unit delivers an electrical shock to an attacker when the attacker attacks the animal. In this way the attacker is repelled from the animal.
Abstract:
A wood support protection device for protecting wood supports from water damage includes a tube that defines an interior space. The tube has a top and a bottom. The top is open. The top is complementary to a lower end of a wood support. A plurality of rods is coupled to and extends substantially perpendicularly between opposing sides of the tube. A plurality of slots is positioned in the tube adjacent to the bottom. The top is configured to insert the lower end of the wood support into the interior space. The rods are configured to retain the wooden support above the bottom of the tube. The slots are positioned in the tube such that the slots are configured to drain water from the interior space. The wood support is protected from damage and rot caused by exposure of the lower end of the wood support to water.
Abstract:
A trapping device for trapping non-dispersing cloths in a toilet bowl is disclosed. The trapping device comprises a strap and a plurality of hooks. The trapping device may be installed in a trapway of the toilet bowl. The strap has a first end, a second end, and a middle portion, wherein the first end includes a first tab extending perpendicular to the strap and the second end includes a second tab extending perpendicular to the strap, and the middle portion is rounded. The plurality of hooks extend from an inner wall of the strap. The strap is made of a strap material that is resilient to bend and springs back to its previous shape, such as a stainless steel or a high density polyethylene.
Abstract:
A building panel has a unitary foamed core, and a unitary cover layer of resinous polymeric material covering the core and covering a bottom edge or drip edge and an upper edge of the panel. A system for installation of adjacent panels includes the adjacent panels having vertical clip-receiving grooves slidably receiving narrow edges of a clip. The clip holds adjacent panels in coplanar abutting relationship to minimize movement while installed on a wall of a building.
Abstract:
A system and method for a resistor for detecting the relative level of moisture content in a humid environment. The resistor has a first layer of conductive material on a top surface of a substrate having a bend. The conductive material is exposed to atmospheric conditions. The first layer of conductive material has a static condition moisture content and a measurable electrical resistance that changes predictably when the amount of moisture content in contact with the first layer of conductive material changes from the static condition. The change of resistance of the first layer of conductive material corresponds to a change in the moisture content in contact with the first layer of electrically conductive material.
Abstract:
A siding panel product is provided comprising a first polymeric siding panel having a butt end and a top end, a front surface comprising a plurality of front faces defined between the top and butt ends and separated by at least one shoulder surface to define a stepped contour, and a rear surface. An insulation backing is coupled to the rear surface of the siding panel. The insulation backing comprises at least first and second insulation members coupled to the rear surface of said siding panel. The first insulation member has a bottom edge thereof coupled proximate to the stepped contour and the second insulation member has a top edge thereof coupled proximate to the stepped contour.
