Abstract: A biaxially oriented multilayer film having a core layer that includes a polyethylene-based composition. The core layer has: a melt index (I2) that is from 0.2 g/10 min to 5.0 g/10 min; a density that is between 0.930 g/cm3 and 0.956 g/cm3; and an average short chain branch (SCB) level in the portion between log (Mw) of 4.0 to 5.0 (SCBlogMw4-5) that is greater than 3.5 SCB/1000c and less than 10.0 SCB/1000 C. The biaxially oriented multilayer film also includes at least one additional layer that includes a propylene-based composition.

Abstract: A biaxially-oriented polyethylene (BOPE) multilayer film comprises a skin layer with a matte surface and a core, the skin layer with a matte surface comprising, in weight percent (wt %) based upon the weight of the skin layer: (1) from 20 to 80 wt % of an ethylene-based polymer, and (2) from 80 to 20 wt % of a propylene-based polymer; each of the ethylene-based polymer and the propylene-based polymer having a storage modulus, with a difference between the storage modulus of the ethylene-based polymer and the propylene-based polymer of greater than 40 megaPascals (MPa) at 110° C., and greater than 18 MPa at 120° C.

Abstract: The present disclosure is concerned with a method of forming a seal with a polyethylene based film structure. The polyethylene based film structure has at least one layer formed with an oriented polyethylene having a predetermined melting temperature (Tm). A conductive heat sealing device provides heat to form the seal, where a first sealing bar of the conductive heat sealing device operates at a first operating temperature of at least 10 degrees Celsius (° C.) below the Tm of the oriented polyethylene in the polyethylene based film structure and a second sealing bar of the conductive heat sealing device operates at a second operating temperature of at least 15° C. higher than the operating temperature of the first sealing bar. The seal formed with the polyethylene based film structure retains at least 99 percent of its original surface area prior to forming the seal.

In further embodiments, the at least one ply of the liner can include a second tie layer and a third layer, wherein the second tie layer is disposed between the first layer and the third layer.

Abstract: A multilayer film (10) having excellent mechanical strength and transparency comprise a core layer (12), at least two skin layers, and at least two sub-skin layers disposed between the core layer (12) and the two skin layers. The core layer (12) comprises at least 60 wt. % linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE). The sub-skin layers comprise at least 60 wt. % low density polyethylene (LDPE). The skin layers comprise at least 80 wt. % of LLDPE wherein the LLDPE comprises C6 LLDPE, C8 LLDPE, or combinations thereof, and each skin layer has a thickness of less than 25% of the overall thickness of the multilayer film (10). The multilayer film (10) comprises at least 0.1 wt. % ultraviolet stabilizer.

In one aspect, a composition suitable for making uncrosslinked low density polyethylene foam comprising at least 50 weight percent low density polyethylene based on the total weight of the composition, wherein the low density polyethylene has a density of 0.915 to 0.930 g/cm3 and a melt index (I2) of 1 to 4 g/10 minutes; and polytetrafluoroethylene having an average particle size of one micron to 15 microns.
