Abstract:
An outsert application system is disclosed that includes a vacuum assembly and a pivot arm. The vacuum assembly is for accommodating passage of a vacuum to an engagement surface at a first end thereof for engaging an outsert. The pivot arm is rotatably coupled at a first end thereof to a second end of the vacuum assembly, and the vacuum assembly is adapted to rotate with respect to the pivot arm about a first axis. A second end of the pivot arm is adapted for rotation about a second axis that is substantially parallel with the first axis. The system further includes a translation device that causes the first axis to move with respect to the second axis as the vacuum assembly rotates about the first axis.
Abstract:
A system and method for optimisation of media objects for delivery to one of a plurality of mobile communication devices of different types and rendering thereon. In particular, the media objects are optimised according to the mobile device's characteristics to ensure efficient delivery and optimal rendering thereon. For this purpose, an optimised output of the media object is determined at a first stage. At a subsequent stage, based on the mobile device type, the characteristics of the object to be delivered are then adjusted to conform to those of the predetermined optimised output, thus ensuring that the rendering of the optimised media object on the mobile device output is of high quality.
Abstract:
The present invention is base on aerodynamic flows and turbulences that surround tall building under various wind conditions. When buildings are relatively tall, there is more airflow surrounding their walls than over it.When the wind reach in angle a surface of a building, this wind will generally slide on this face to the end of it. As all the wind that come to that surface will run to the same ending point, there will be an important concentration of wind at this point. On the other hand, the following wall will receive no wind and will be under low pressure. This is a perfect location for wind turbine, and the first object of our invention.

Abstract:
The present invention provides for a method that could be advantageously implemented in a satellite local area network (LAN) in which an average number of sites share a TDMA link. The invention provides for both a dedicated bandwidth to all the sites and a shared bandwidth that is dynamically assigned to the sites, therefore allowing for both synchronous traffic and for on request burst mode traffic. The method includes a reservation method of this shared bandwidth which is specially optimized for a satellite link. The method provides also for a network that automatically managed its communication bandwidth resources and the synchronization of the sites, without the need of an external controller. The present invention also provides for a satellite modem to transmit data from a site, to receive data from the sites and to manage the bandwidth resources of the TDMA satellite in accordance with the above method.
Abstract:
An inflatable platform that is utilized on the ocean or other bodies of water for relaxation, entertainment, or other recreational purposes includes two floating bodies. The larger floating body has a recess with a mesh panel so the user may access water filtered by the mesh panel while relaxing on the larger floating body. The user may place the smaller floating body next to the larger floating body to create more space for another user or may put the smaller floating body into the recess and use the present invention as a swim platform, tanning deck, or other recreational purpose.
Abstract:
A computer system for publishing content includes a categorization member, a rating module, a user profiling assembly and a suggested-reading engine. The categorization member enables an author-user and reader-users of an authored work to categorize content of the authored work using a fixed taxonomy, keywords, tags and/or keyword combinations. The rating module enables reader-users to rate authored works and makes a determination of quality of each authored work in the system. Rating includes reader-user response activity such as number of times the reader recommends, forwards or otherwise effectively promotes the authored work. The user profiling assembly measures words and word combinations used (written or read) by a user and generates therefrom a profile of the user. The suggested-reading engine is responsive to the rating module and provides a ranked list of suggested reading (authored works) for a user. The suggested reading is based on the user's ratings of authored works, respective relevance of authored works to the user and editorial promotion of certain articles/authored works.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed of orienting a container in a labeling system. The method includes the steps of: providing a plurality of containers on a conveyor wherein the containers and the conveyor are moving at a constant velocity VC; receiving a captured container of the plurality of containers between a first belt that is moving at a dynamic velocity VA and a second belt that is moving at a dynamic velocity VB, the first and second belts capturing opposing sides of a captured container while the captured container remains on the conveyor, wherein at the time of capturing the container between the first and second belts, VA, VB and VC are substantially equal to each other; applying a label to the container using the first and second belts by adjusting the velocities VA and VB; adjusting the orientation of the captured container by further adjusting the velocities VA and VB; and releasing the captured container from the first and second belts at the velocity VC on the conveyor, wherein at the time of releasing the container from between the first and second belts, VA, VB and VC are substantially equal to each other.
Abstract:
There is described a system for measuring energy consumption of individual electrical devices amongst a plurality of electrical devices. The system is adapted to determine in real time energy consumption while reducing its own consumption of energy by adjusting a transmission rate to between status sensing devices and a consumption evaluation device. The transmission rate is adjusted as a function of learned energy consumption habits and/or consumption characteristics of individual electrical devices.
