    摘要: A transparent waveguide for use in eye tracking includes an input-coupler and an output-coupler. The input-coupler comprises a plurality of curved grating lines having a radially varying pitch. When positioned in front of an eye illuminated with infrared light, infrared light beams reflected from the eye and incident on the input-coupler enter the waveguide at the input-coupler, propagate through the waveguide by way of total internal reflections, and exit the waveguide proximate the output-coupler. The radially varying pitch of the curved grating lines of the input-coupler provides angular encoding of infrared light incident on the input-coupler, and more specifically, causes different beams of infrared light incident on respective different horizontal and vertical positions of the input-coupler to propagate through the waveguide at respective different angles of reflection and exit the waveguide at respective different angles of incidence relative to a surface of the waveguide through which infrared light beams exit.

    摘要: A classroom response system is disclosed, comprising a classroom response system (CRS) server, at least one instructor console, and at least one student console. The CRS server includes a plurality of software modules, including a runtime server, a master server, a simulator, a query editor, a report generator, a report editor, a seating chart tool, and a simulator. An optional secondary instructor console may be provided, for example for use by a instructor's assistant. In use, the instructor may use the CRS to keep track of attendance, pose questions to students, and receive answers, including open-ended answers. Students may also be allowed to evaluate one another's work. The instructor may display aggregated answers and other anonymous data.

    摘要: A self-contained solar powered light having a battery system where the battery container is mounted between two cantilevered arms on an upright vertical support. The light element is mounted at the distal end of one of the cantilevered arms. The photovoltaic panels are mounted on the upper cantilevered arm and point upward toward the sun. A computer is operably connected between the battery and the photovoltaic panels and the light element to determine when the light element should be actuated and deactuated based upon amperage produced by the photovoltaic panels. The vertical support has a U-shaped cross member which can engage poles with circular cross section or poles with external side flats. Threaded fasteners fix the vertical support onto the pole member.

Two spaced-apart upright posts (8, 10) attached to a grade G support a locking rail 4 with an offset locking aperture 26 and an alignment aperture 32 and further support an alignment rail 6 with an alignment aperture 40. This requires the participants to systematically review and record data pertaining to each multiple choice question on two different occasions prior to a pre-determined multiple number of third tier encounters during each of which the participants are prompted to prompted to recall as much data as they can.
