摘要： A device for directly playing audio and video CDs is provided so that a notebook computer could become a portable audio and video CD player. The device operates without powering on the notebook computer. During its operation, the device's audio and video processing circuit, along with the notebook computer's LCD display, speakers, and laser disk drive, draws their required electrical power from the notebook computer's power source. A decoding chip in the device's audio and video processing circuit accesses the content of the audio or video CD, decodes it, and plays it out on the LCD display and speaker of the notebook computer.

摘要： A device built in a computer for directly playing multiple external AV sources without powering on the computer is provided. An AV signal from one of these external sources is presented on the computer's image display device (such as LCD) and audio device (such as speakers). The AV signal could also be presented on external video devices (such as TV, projector) and audio devices (such as stereo) via the computer's built-in video and audio output interfaces. When the computer is connected to multiple external AV sources, the AV signals from these sources could be presented sequentially in full screen, or they could be presented simultaneously in a split-screen fashion. The device could be controlled by control buttons located on the computer's casing or by a remote control.

摘要： Disclosed is a processing architecture that converts a notebook computer into an audio/video playing device for directly playing an audio/video signal without activating a central processing unit of the notebook computer, wherein, without activating the central processing unit, the processing architecture receives an audio/video signal through an analog audio/video interface, which applies an analog signal to an analog-to-digital converter to provide a digital signal. The digital signal is then processed in sequence by an audio/video processor and a low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) processor to provide an LVDS signal that is selectively applied to a display screen and a speaker of the notebook computer to be played and/or broadcast by the display screen and the speaker.

A levitation device includes magnets mounted to the blades of the blade assembly and a magnetic field generator mounted in the bottom wall and opposing the magnets of the blades. The magnet field generator is controlled by a control circuit to selectively generate a magnetic field that interacts with the magnets of the blades to induce expelling force acting upon the blade assembly to axially move the blade assembly a predetermined distance away from the bottom wall. The magnitude of the expelling force can be changed by controlling the magnetic field generator whereby the distance between the blades and the bottom wall can be adjusted.
