Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for seamless and automatic upgrade of access points in a facility with minimal disruption, particularly, for important users of a network. The access points may be ranked, and the rankings may be aggregated to identify a sub-region of the facility with the lowest ranked access points. Various sub-sets of the access points in the identified sub-region can be updated separately so that spatial coverage by the other sub-sets maintains continuous access within the sub-region during the updates. Updates to later sub-sets and/or sub-regions can be performed contingent on the success of the earlier updates. In this way, updates can be verified on access points used by lower-priority users such as guest users of the network to avoid disruption of access to more important users such as executives or safety workers on the network.

Abstract: In some examples, a non-transitory computer-readable medium may contain instructions executable by a processing resource to collect Wi-Fi data points. The Wi-Fi data points may correspond to a plurality of users of an enterprise for a particular number of days. In some examples, the Wi-Fi data points may indicate a time period during each of the particular number of days when each of the plurality of users was connected to a Wi-Fi network. Instructions may further be executable to determine that a subset of the Wi-Fi data points represent outliers and remove the subset of Wi-Fi data points to create a data set. The data set may comprise non-outlier Wi-Fi data points. Instructions may further be executable to determine a Wi-Fi Adoption Index (WAI) for each of the plurality of users based on the data set.

Abstract: A method for managing bandwidth may include identifying a first tier of applications and a second tier of applications, determining a number of user sessions associated with at least one application among the first tier of applications and the second tier of applications, each user session consuming a percentage of bandwidth of at least one communication channel in a network, and baselining a second tier application bandwidth use for each user session associated with the second tier of applications to determine a first interval and a second interval. The method may also include calculating a second tier application usage score associated with the second tier of applications, the calculating including determining a percentage of bandwidth used by the second tier of applications in the first interval and determining a percentage of bandwidth used by the second tier of applications in the second interval, generating a user score based on the second tier application usage score and a percentage of use of the first tier of applications, and adjusting a bandwidth allocation based on the user score.

Abstract: Described herein are systems, devices, techniques and products for operating network devices, such as wireless access points, in a network environment. For example, wireless client devices may have resources reserved for their use by a network device if the wireless client device is categorized for such resource reservation, such as if the wireless client device is categorized as more important than other wireless client devices. Such categorization may be indicated by a context associated with the wireless client device, including belonging to or being associated with an important user or being used for an important purpose, such as emergency purposes, prescheduled purposes or involving multiple users. Reservation of wireless resources for wireless client devices may be performed to ensure an important user or device is provided with adequate resources to place a voice or video call, for example.

Abstract: Examples relate to managing network traffic. In one example, a computing device may: receive voice network traffic from each of a plurality of voice clients; enqueue the received voice network traffic into a voice Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) queue; determine a measure of WMM queue utilization based on data queued in the voice WMM queue; determine a measure of radio congestion for a surrounding area; and determine, based on the measure of WMM queue utilization and the measure of radio congestion, to: stop prioritization of newly received voice traffic from new voice clients, or transition at least one of the plurality of voice clients to a neighboring computing device.
