摘要: The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery of the present invention is provided with an electrode plate group and a non-aqueous electrolyte, the electrode plate group including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, a positive electrode lead connected to the positive electrode, and a negative electrode lead connected to the negative electrode. The energy density of the electrode plate group is 750 Wh/L or higher by volume, and the cross-sectional area of at least one of the positive electrode lead and the negative electrode lead is 5.5×10−5 to 1.2×10−2 cm2.

摘要: In a lithium ion secondary battery including a flat-plate electrode assembly which is configured by stacking the positive electrode, the separator, and the negative electrode in the thickness direction thereof, each of the positive electrode and the negative electrode includes a current collector and an active material layer. Each of the current collector includes a substantially rectangular current collector body, a heat radiating portion, and a lead portion, and the heat radiating portions are projected toward the outside of the electrode assembly so as not to overlap with each other in the thickness direction of the electrode assembly. In this way, heat caused inside the lithium ion secondary battery can be diffused efficiently to the outside, and safety of the lithium ion secondary battery can be further increased, without complicating the battery structure and decreasing mechanical strength of the battery.

摘要: In a rectangular battery, a lead 9L connected to an electrode plate having a first polarity is connected to a battery case 1 which is an external terminal having the first polarity. A lead 11L connected to an electrode plate having a second polarity is connected to an external terminal 25 having the second polarity, through a connection plate 29. A distance between the battery case 1 and the connection plate 29 at at least one end of the battery case 1 in a long-side direction is equal to or less than the half of the width of the battery case 1 in a short-side direction thereof.

摘要: A battery pack comprising: a secondary battery including a safety valve; a gas absorption portion including a gas absorbent represented by zeolite and a container hermetically enclosing the gas absorbent; and a case housing the secondary battery and the gas absorption portion. The safety valve is configured to discharge a gas produced in the secondary battery at the time of abnormality. The container includes a principal surface facing the safety valve, for example, and when the gas is discharged, the container is unsealed by rupturing of at least the principal surface of the container by an effect of heat or pressure of the gas.

摘要: Positive and negative electrode plates are respectively joined to positive and negative electrode terminals through leads. At least one of the leads joined to the positive or negative electrode plate is made of a stack of first and second metal layers. The first metal layer has a resistance higher than that of the second metal layer. The second metal layer has a melting point lower than that of the first metal layer. When a short-circuit current flows in the secondary battery, current is concentrated in the second metal layer to cause a blowout of the second metal layer, and then, an increase in an heat generation amount due to an increase in a current density of a short-circuit current flowing in the first metal layer causes a blowout of the first metal layer, thereby causing a blowout of the lead to interrupt the short-circuit current.

The flat electrode body has first and second electrodes and a separator therebetween, which are wound into a flat shape having first and second flat side surface R portions. The first electrode is the outermost surface of the electrode body. An insulation film is provided between the outermost portion of the first electrode and a portion of the second electrode immediately inside the outermost portion, and between the portion of the second electrode and another portion of the first electrode immediately inside the portion of the second electrode.

摘要: A battery includes an electrode group, a case, a sealing member, and a mesh portion. The electrode group includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode opposing the positive electrode, an electrolyte interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The case has an opening and contains the electrode group. The sealing member closes the opening of the case. The mesh portion is provided so as to face an exhaust hole formed in at least one of the case and the sealing member. The mesh is formed of a thermally conductive material to put off frame coming out of the exhaust hole, in case where the battery is so defective to ignite fire.
