摘要: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus includes a reading and writing head for writing data on data tracks formed on a recording tape and reading the data therefrom to produce a first reproduction data. A simultaneous reproducing head is provided for reading a second production data from the data track just being written or read by the reading and writing head. A delay unit delays the first signal by a predetermined phase difference factor to arrange the first and second reproduction data on the same time base. A determiner is also provided for selecting either of said first and second reproduction signals whose signal quality is better than the other.

摘要: A radiator grille actuating mechanism for use on an automobile having a body and utilizing an engine coolant, comprises a radiator grille pivotably mounted on the automobile body, a link mechanism operatively connected to said radiator grille and pivotably mounted on the automobile body, an actuator mounted on the automobile body and operatively connected to the link mechanism for moving the radiator grille between open and closed positions through the link mechanism, and means for actuating the actuator to move the radiator grille between the open position and the closed position in response to sensing of a predetermined temperature of the engine coolant. The radiator grille can be brought to the open position when the engine coolant reaches the predetermined temperature, thus allowing a sufficient amount of air to be supplied to the radiator to prevent the engine from being overheated. The actuating means may comprise a vacuum actuator controllably supplied with a vacuum as from an intake manifold, or a solenoid-operated actuator controlled by an electrical circuit which issues an actuating signal only when the temperature of the engine coolant is detected and the speed of travel of the automobile drops below a predetermined speed.

摘要: An apparatus is described for rearranging the relative positions of data samples of a digital video signal within each field of the video signal, for use in a digital VTR in which alternate samples are separated into two different recording channels to be recorded on different tracks of a recording medium. The apparatus includes an intra-line shuffling circuit and a field memory into which output data from the shuffling circuit are written, such that adjacent samples which are of the same channel and are located mutually adjacent in the same line of the video signal are read out from the memory and recorded on respectively different tracks of the recording medium, thereby ensuring that if a sample is lost due to a read error, the adjacent samples of the same channel will always be available for use in interpolation processing to compensate for the lost sample.

摘要: An upwardly and downward adjustable headrest assembly for the seat backrest of a vehicle includes a fixed stay upstanding from the seat backrest, guide shoes slidable up and down along the stay and carrying a headrest body, and a locking mechanism disposed between one guide shoe and the stay for locking the guide shoe to the stay at any position therealong. The interior of the headrest provides the space needed to receive the stay as the headrest is moved up and down along the stay via the guide shoes, thereby allowing the headrest assembly to be installed on the backrest without increasing the thickness of the backrest.

摘要: A blood sugar analyzer system for measuring the blood sugar concentration level in a blood specimen is provided. A sensor having a fixed enzyme membrane and a measuring electrode generates a reaction current proportional to the blood sugar level of the specimen, and a sampling mechanism samples the sensor output at regular intervals. A memory receives data from the sampling and divides the data into a group of new data and a group of old data. A calculating mechanism calculates the average value of each group, and the difference between the averages. When the difference exceeds a predetermined value, the latest sensed data value is selected as the rising point of the chemical reaction between the fixed enzyme membrane of the sensor and the blood sugar of the specimen.

摘要: A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a liquid crystal element including a front substrate positioned on the side of an observer and having a first electrode mounted to one surface, a rear substrate having a second electrode arranged to face said first electrode, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between these substrates, said liquid crystal layer controlling the polarized state of the transmitted light in accordance with the electric field applied between the first and the second electrodes. A first reflection polarizing plate is arranged on the front side of the liquid crystal element and reflects the light of one of the two polarized components of the incident light. Two polarized components are perpendicular to each other, and transmit the light of the other polarized component.
