摘要： A digital attenuator is disclosed which is capable of having the output PCM signal attenuated nearly in proportion to the input PCM signal level based upon simple logic operations ofP.sub.out = .alpha. The above sum is compared with P.sub.in and when the former is larger than or equal to the latter, P.sub.in becomes P.sub.out, while when the former is less than the latter, the sum is derived as P.sub.out. Thus, an attenuation nearly proportional to the input FCM signal level may be attained.

This activated carbon is obtained by attaching a solution or dispersion of the metal chelate compound onto the fibrous activated carbon followed by drying. Contacting the activated carbon with a toxic substance-containing gas provides very efficient removal of the toxic substance from the gas.

The chain is wound or unwound by the chain motor in order to move the ring-shaped member vertically to thereby supplement a holding force generated through closing of the second arms.
