Abstract: A multi-core processor configured to improve processing performance in certain computing contexts is provided. The multi-core processor includes multiple processing cores that implement barrel threading to execute multiple instruction threads in parallel while ensuring that the effects of an idle instruction or thread upon the performance of the processor is minimized. The multiple cores can also share a common data cache, thereby minimizing the need for expensive and complex mechanisms to mitigate inter-cache coherency issues. The barrel-threading can minimize the latency impacts associated with a shared data cache. In some examples, the multi-core processor can also include a serial processor configured to execute single threaded programming code that may not yield satisfactory performance in a processing environment that employs barrel threading.

Abstract: A system includes a first computing device client associated with a first user in a community of users operable to send content to publish to a data aggregation server. The data aggregation server is operable to receive the content to publish from the first computing device client, host a first user profile associated with the first user of the first computing device client, the first user profile identifying a targeted recipient in the community of users, and disseminate automatically the content received from the first computing device client to a second computing device client associated with the targeted recipient, without receiving input from the first computing device client explicitly specifying the targeted recipient to whom the content is disseminated.

Abstract: The present invention features interferon-free therapies for the treatment of HCV. Preferably, the treatment is over a shorter duration of treatment, such as no more than 12 weeks. In one aspect, the treatment comprises administering at least two direct acting antiviral agents to a subject with HCV infection, wherein the treatment lasts for 12 weeks and does not include administration of either interferon or ribavirin, and said at least two direct acting antiviral agents comprise (a) Compound 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and (b) Compound 2 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

Abstract: A neural processing unit (NPU) includes a controller including a scheduler, the controller configured to receive from a compiler a machine code of an artificial neural network (ANN) including a fusion ANN, the machine code including data locality information of the fusion ANN, and receive heterogeneous sensor data from a plurality of sensors corresponding to the fusion ANN; at least one processing element configured to perform fusion operations of the fusion ANN including a convolution operation and at least one special function operation; a special function unit (SFU) configured to perform a special function operation of the fusion ANN; and an on-chip memory configured to store operation data of the fusion ANN, wherein the schedular is configured to control the at least one processing element and the on-chip memory such that all operations of the fusion ANN are processed in a predetermined sequence according to the data locality information.

Abstract: Data are maintained in a distributed computing system that describe a graph. The graph represents relationships among items. The graph has a plurality of vertices that represent the items and a plurality of edges connecting the plurality of vertices. At least one vertex of the plurality of vertices includes a set of label values indicating the at least one vertex's strength of association with a label from a set of labels. The set of labels describe possible characteristics of an item represented by the at least one vertex. At least one edge of the plurality of edges includes a set of label weights for influencing label values that traverse the at least one edge. A label propagation algorithm is executed for a plurality of the vertices in the graph in parallel for a series of synchronized iterations to propagate labels through the graph.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for the representation and processing of genome sequence data, produced by genome sequencing machines, when aligned on one or more reference sequences. Sequence reads are coded by aligning them with respect to pre-existing or constructed reference sequences. After the alignment, the coding process is composed of a classification of the reads into data classes, followed by the coding of each data class in terms of a multiplicity of descriptors layers. Specific source models and entropy coders are used for the coding of the sub-sets of descriptors used to represent each data class.
