    摘要: A surface light source device includes a light source body having an internal space. A partition wall is disposed in the internal space of the light source body to divide the internal space into a plurality of discharge spaces. The partition wall has end portions that make contact with inner surface of the light source body. The partition wall has a throughhole, through which the discharge spaces are connected to each other. The light source body includes a voltage applying part that applies a voltage to the discharge space to generate plasma in the discharge space. A barrier is disposed adjacent to the throughhole to restrict a flow of the plasma generated from a discharge gas through the throughhole. The barrier screens the throughhole to restrict the flow of the plasma through the throughhole. Therefore, uniformity of luminance of the surface light source device is improved.

    摘要: A lamp driving apparatus includes a change rate calculating section, a dimming transforming section and a power supplying section. The change rate calculating section calculates a change rate signal from an image signal corresponding to the image. The dimming transforming section outputs a digital dimming signal and an analog dimming signal, in response to a dimming signal provided from an external device and the change rate signal. The power supplying section provides the lamp with power, in response to a vertical synchronizing signal, the analog dimming signal and the digital dimming signal. Thus, although an instantaneous lamp current is increased, life and characteristics of the lamp will not be adversely influenced, and motion blur of a moving image may be removed.

    摘要: A lamp driving apparatus includes a change rate calculating section, a dimming transforming section and a power supplying section. The change rate calculating section calculates a change rate signal from an image signal corresponding to the image. The dimming transforming section outputs a digital dimming signal and an analog dimming signal, in response to a dimming signal provided from an external device and the change rate signal.     摘要: An apparatus of driving a lamp for a display device is provided. The driving apparatus includes an inverter (920), a lamp current sensor (940), and an inverter controller (930). The lamp current sensor (940)senses a current flowing in the lamp and output a feedback signal having a magnitude depending on the sensed current. The inverter controller (930) compares a dimming control signal from an external device with the feedback signal and controls the inverter (920) based on the comparison. The inverter (920) includes a transformer (T1) for applying a lamp drive voltage to a lamp for turning on or off the lamp and a voltage sensor (928) sensing the lamp drive voltage. The inverter (920) adjusts a turns ratio of the transformer in accordance with the sensed lamp drive voltage.
