    摘要: A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a backlight assembly which includes a device for driving the backlight including a light emitting diode (“LED”) used as a light source, which has a high efficiency and a high reliability for controlling brightness of each color light. The driving device drives a first, second and third LED unit emitting a first, second and third light, respectively. The driving device includes a first driving part emitting the first light in response to a brightness control signal and outputting a reference control signal in response to a first brightness of the first light, a second driving part driving the second LED units generating the second light of which second brightness is controlled in response to the reference control signal, and a third driving part driving the third LED units generating the third light of which third brightness is controlled in response to the reference control signal.

    摘要: A backlight assembly includes an optical cluster a light-receiving structure, a light sensor and a circuit board. The optical cluster includes a plurality of point-light sources that emit different light beams. The light-receiving structure is disposed within an emitting area of the optical cluster, and receives the light beams emitted from each of the point-light sources. The light sensor is connected to the light-receiving structure, and senses the light beams received from the light-receiving structure. The optical cluster is mounted on the circuit board. The circuit board has an opening formed within the emitting area of the optical cluster, so that the light-receiving structure may be inserted into the circuit board. Therefore, intensity of light received by the light-receiving structure disposed within the optical cluster may be sensed, so that white balance may be controlled.

    摘要: A device for driving a display backlight, a method for driving a display backlight, and a display apparatus having a backlight driving device. The device, method, and display apparatus are capable of displaying a substantially uniform white light. A sensing unit senses light intensities for each of a plurality of colors of light emitted by the light emitting elements, and outputs sensing signals for each of the plurality of colors of light emitted by the light emitting elements. The signal processing unit processes the outputted sensing signals to output light intensity signals for each of the plurality of colors of light emitted by the light emitting elements. The control unit controls the light emitting elements to generate a substantially uniform white light by outputting driving signals based on the light intensity signals and a set of reference light intensity signals to control each of the plurality of colors of light emitted by the light emitting elements. Accordingly, increased uniformity of white light is provided.
