Abstract: A method to transmit data from a wireless apparatus includes determining an information block length corresponding to an error correction code, inserting padding bits into at least one protocol data unit, PDU, of a plurality of PDUs such that a padded PDU size is an integer multiple of the determined information block length, and wherein each PDU in a frame of PDUs to be transmitted comprises a PDU size that is an integer multiple of the determined information block length, and transmitting the frame encoded by the error correction code with the determined information block length to a wireless receiver.

Abstract: Device, systems, and/or techniques for using sub-channel signaling information between an access point and a first station are disclosed. An uplink trigger sent from the access point to the first station may be received. A map may be transmitted from the first station indicating at least one sub-channel that is available for spatial sharing by a second station. The first station may receive an acknowledgement from the access point that data was transmitted from the second station on the at least one sub-channel and/or received by the at least one access point. An OFDMA transmission having a sub-channel/sub-band available for transmitting data may be determined. An energy in the sub-channel/sub-band may be measured and/or compared to a dynamic and/or static threshold. Whether a sub-channel/sub-band is free or busy may be determined for example based on if the measured energy is, or is not, greater than the threshold.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for determining a transmit power based on clear channel assessment (CCA) thresholds. A station (STA) associated with a first Basic Service Set (BSS) may receive, from an access point (AP) associated with the first BSS, a clear channel assessment (CCA) value for a group of STAs associated with a second BSS. The CCA value may indicate a minimum CCA threshold for a packet received from the second BSS. The STA may then determine, based on the CCA value, a STA specific CCA parameter and a target CCA parameter. The target CCA parameter may be greater than or equal to the STA specific CCA parameter. Based on the STA specific CCA parameter and the target CCA parameter, the STA may determine a target transmit power control (TPC) parameter of the STA, wherein the sum of target TPC parameter and target CCA parameter is constant.

Abstract: A method for associating a new end-station (end-STA) with a relay access point (R-AP) in a relay transmission. An assignment of a new identifier is transmitted to the new end-STA, wherein traffic indication map indications for the new end-STA in a beacon from the R-AP follows the transmission of the new identifier assignment. A message is sent to a root access point (AP), the message including an indication of a number of information fields in the message and at least one information field, each of the at least one information fields including an identifier of one end-STA associated with the R-AP. An acknowledgement is received from the root AP on a condition that the root AP correctly receives the message and associates an identifier of the end-STA with an identifier of the R-AP.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for concurrent link setup and downlink data retrieval, e.g., for high efficiency WLAN. An access point (AP) may send a trigger element that allocates a resource for pre-association transmissions with the AP. The trigger element may allocate the resource for random access and/or deterministic access. The AP may receive, from an unassociated STA, a first frame via one or more resource units (RUs) allocated in the trigger element. The AP may determine a pre-association identifier (PID) that identifies the unassociated STA. The AP may send the PID to the unassociated STA, for example, in the trigger element or in the multi-STA ACK. The AP may send a second frame associated with a multi-user (MU) transmission that includes the PID. The AP may send a trigger frame that includes the PID.

Abstract: A method performed by a STA of a WLAN may comprise receiving a trigger frame, from an AP. The trigger frame may be a trigger for uplink MU data transmission and the trigger frame may indicate a traffic priority. In response to receiving the trigger frame, the STA may transmit at least one A-MPDU comprising a plurality of data units. At least one of the plurality of data units may have a priority greater than the indicated traffic priority and another one of the plurality of data units may have a priority equal to the indicated traffic priority.

Abstract: A method for balancing load on a network may comprise determining that a first AP serving traffic on a 5 Ghz frequency band is within range of a STA. The STA may receive, from the first AP, a first allowed traffic bitmap indicating first allowed traffic, wherein the first allowed traffic bitmap indicates whether AC_VO frames, AC_VI frames and at least one other frame type is allowed by the first AP. The STA may receive a second allowed traffic bitmap concerning a second AP. The STA may also receive, from the first AP, access control information of the second AP. The STA may transmit an association request to a selected one of the first AP or second AP, based on the received first allowed traffic bitmap, the received second allowed traffic bitmap and the access control information. Once associated, traffic may flow between the selected AP and the STA.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) communicating in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system may use efficient acknowledgement (ACK) setup and transmission procedures in conjunction with other transmission and power saving techniques, such as target wake time/restricted access window (TWT/RAW), power save multi-poll (PSMP) and/or transmission opportunity (TXOP) mechanisms. In an example, a WTRU may transmit a frame including an indication that a TWT/RAW (or TXOP) period is scheduled, an indication that multi-WTRU acknowledgement (ACK)/block ACK (BA) will be used for acknowledgement, and/or targeted transmission time(s) for the transmission of multi-WTRU ACK/BA frame(s). The WTRU may trigger the start of the TWT/RAW period, and may receive at least one data frame from another WTRU(s). The WTRU may transmit multi-WTRU ACK/BA frame(s) during the targeted transmission time(s) to acknowledge the at least one data frame received from the other WTRU(s).

Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting UL MU diversity are provided. The method may comprise transmitting a MU RTS frame to a plurality of STAs, the MU RTS frame comprising a plurality of MCS indicators, a plurality of data stream number indicators, an indication of a spatial technology, and a duration field. The MU RTS frame solicits clear to send (CTS) frame responses from a plurality of STAs and simultaneous UL OFDMA transmissions may be received in accordance with the MCS indicators, the data stream number indicators and the indicated spatial technology. An AP may transmit another frame comprising UL transmission information for transmission of data frames by the plurality of STAs. The AP may receive from the plurality of STAs, the data frames simultaneously and may additionally transmit acknowledgements of the received data frames to the plurality of STAs.

In such a method, the following steps may take place: initiating active scanning on at least one of a plurality of channels; waiting to transmit a first probe request on a first channel of the plurality of channels based on a delay timer; receiving at the first STA, while the delay timer is not expired, a probe request from a second STA; and skipping the first probe request on the first channel of the plurality of channels based on information contained in the received probe request from the second STA.
