摘要: A hoodless incubator is provided, which supplies both a good microclimate in the area of the patient surface (1) and guarantees good access to the patient at the same time and continuously. The incubator includes a bed (1) and an air jet unit (6) arranged above the bed (1) and directed toward the bed (1). The air jet unit (6) discharges a jacketed impinging jet, formed of an inner, air-conditioned core jet (4) and a non-air-conditioned jacket jet (5) surrounding the core jet (4). The bed (1) is surrounded by a channel-like edge area (9), which is in flow connection with the air jet unit (6) via a first feed channel (13) with a first fan (11) arranged therein and with a heating and humidifying device (12) likewise arranged therein in order to form the air-conditioned core jet (4).

摘要: The invention is directed to a method for controlling the operating parameters determining the thermal metabolism of a premature or newborn disposed in an incubator. These operating parameters include the incubator air temperature and the incubator humidity. The method is improved in such a manner that the adjustment of the parameters is coupled to the combination thereof optimizing the thermal metabolism without the necessity of a complex multiple step adjustment for each individual parameter. The method is characterized in that a primary control circuit for controlling the first parameter supplies the actual value corresponding thereto as a control parameter to a logic generator which determines a sequence value by means of a logic function. This sequence value is conducted to a secondary circuit as a desired value for the adjustment of the second parameter.

摘要: An oxygen insufflation device for wearing on the head of a person comprises a head engaging frame similar to a spectacle frame including a front portion and a side temple portion engaged on each side of said frame terminating in respective ear engaging ends. The front member is engaged with the front portion of the frame and has a nose feed engageable over the person's nose and a downwardly extending portion terminating in a nose plug which is engageable into a single nostril. A flexible connection for supplying oxygen is connected into the frame at one of the temple portions and an oxygen flow passage is defined from this flexible connection through the associated temple portion and along the front of the frame and down said front member in the downwardly extending portion and terminates in a discharge opening in the nose plug. The frame advantageously includes a flexible connection between the front portion of the frame and the temples in the form of flexible links which are made from corrugated tube stock. Ear engaging portions comprise bows which are made of helically wound flat wires enclising a spring construction within the wires. The front portion of the device advantageously includes a flexible angular tubular member terminating in the nose seat.

摘要: A device is provided for increasing humidity for respirating patients, especially for a respiration humidifier or an anesthesia reflector. The device includes a gas channel for passing through breathing air, a control and/or regulating device, a temperature sensor and a dew sensor for measuring the humidity present in the breathing air by electromagnetic radiation with a generating device and with a detection device for electromagnetic radiation. The humidity of the breathing air is determined at a low cost and in a reliable manner and condensation is avoided in the respiration system without any additional effort for sterilization. Humidity in the breathing air is determined by the a dew sensor by the change in the reflection of the electromagnetic radiation as a function of dew formation at a condensation-fogged and condensation-free boundary surface between breathing air and a medium having an optical density higher than that of breathing air.

摘要: A device for measuring the body temperature of a living being is provided with a sensor housing containing a first temperature sensor which can be placed on the skin of the body for detecting the skin temperature of the living being, a second temperature sensor arranged on a side of the first temperature sensor facing away from the skin of the body at a spaced location from the first temperature sensor for detecting a temperature. An analyzing unit is provided in which the body temperature is calculated according to a predetermined temperature formula containing a temperature difference based on temperatures measured by the first temperature sensor and the second temperature sensor. A compensation term expands the temperature formula. The compensation term depends on a change over time in the sensor temperature and such parameters that a temperature correction value can be determined for taking into account the heating of the sensor housing and/or of a space surrounded by the sensor housing by the contact between the sensor housing and the skin of the body.

The evaporator (5) has a tubular housing, which is filled with a porous sintered material. A front side of the housing is in liquid connection with the automatic water refilling device (1, 2) and the other front side is in connection with an evaporator chamber (4), through which breathing gas flows. The evaporator (5) is provided with a porous sintered glass or ceramic with a pore size of 10 μm to 40 μm in a first, lower, unheated area (14), and the evaporator (5) is provided with a porous sintered metal with a mean pore size of 50 μm to 200 μm in a second, upper area (15) heated by means of a heater (6).
