    摘要: An image processing apparatus provided with a display unit for displaying an operation picture, showing control indicia (e.g., icons) corresponding to multiple image processing functions, is operated to display the operation picture on an external display device. The operator selects one of the indicia shown on the external display device by operating an input device, such as touch screen of the apparatus or a remote control, to indicate the position of the desired one of the indicia. The operator can thereby quickly and reliably select an image processing function to be executed, without any need to view an operation picture on the display unit when making the selection.

    摘要: The bipolar transistor of the present invention includes a Si collector buried layer, a first base region made of a SiGeC layer having a high C content, a second base region made of a SiGeC layer having a low C content or a SiGe layer, and a Si cap layer 14 including an emitter region. The C content is less than 0.8% in at least the emitter-side boundary portion of the second base region. This suppresses formation of recombination centers due to a high C content in a depletion layer at the emitter-base junction, and improves electric characteristics such as the gain thanks to reduction in recombination current, while low-voltage driving is maintained.

    摘要: An image file editing apparatus comprises a media drive device for performing writing and reading of image files on a recording medium that is removably installed from outside, a list display device for displaying a list of image files on the recording medium, a file selecting device for selecting among the displayed list of the image files in accordance with an external operation, and an editing device for performing a predetermined editing operation on an image file or files that is/are selected. In response to an instruction from outside to eject the recording medium, a temporary storage device of the apparatus stores the selected image file(s), and a media ejecting device then ejects the recording medium after completion of storing to the temporary storage device. An editing operation can be performed on the image file(s) stored in the temporary storage device from the ejected recording medium and an image file or files selected by the file selecting device from a subsequently installed recording medium.

    摘要: An apparatus for electrically transmitting the image of a pattern corresponding to the light transmission characteristic of a light-transmitting film substrate employs a linear image sensor for scanning the image of the pattern and producing a corresponding output signal, the frequency band of which is adjusted for transmission over a telephone circuit. The output signal can be made independent of magnification changes of the image-forming optical system, and the area of the pattern scanned by the linear image sensor can be set selectively. A second optical system is employed for observation and includes a retractable mirror that starts the production of the output signal when the mirror is retracted. Both a film image and data on an accompanying document can be transmitted.
