摘要: A display device (100) of the present invention has a first switch (3) and a second switch (4) on an upper surface of its casing, and includes a control circuit (18) for controlling the first switch (3) and the second switch (4) and a light source (19) inside the casing. The control circuit (18) performs control so that the light source (19) is turned on when the second switch (4) is pressed after a predetermined period of time has passed from when the first switch (3) was pressed. Thereby, the display device (100) of the present invention prevents entering of a person into a projection area before projection of video, and controls inadvertent start-up.

摘要: In a display unit which makes coherent light perform scanning on a screen to display an image, it is necessary to rotate a polygon mirror at ultrahigh speed for display of a high resolution image such as HDTV, and therefore, a high-performance polygon mirror must be employed, and further, noise and power consumption during rotation of the polygon mirror cause problems. Mirrors for multiple reflection (6a) and (6b) are inserted in a coherent light scanning optical system, whereby plural scanning lines can be obtained while one plane of the polygon mirror (5) scans one line of coherent light, leading to reduction in the rpm of the polygon mirror.

摘要: There is provided a light source device which can miniaturize a two-dimensional image display device as small as possible. The light source device is provided with three coherent light sources (11a), (11b), and (11c) corresponding to red, blue, and green; prisms (12a) and (12c) for reflecting lights emitted from the coherent light sources (11a) and (11c); and a diffraction part (20) comprising a single volume hologram on which plural gratings are multiply-formed, which gratings diffract the light emitted from the coherent light source (11b), and the lights that are emitted from the coherent light sources (11a) and (11c) and reflected by the prisms (12a) and (12b) so that these lights propagate in the same optical path.

摘要: A video projector includes a laser projection unit that has linear-polarization short-wavelength laser light sources and emits laser lights from the laser light sources, a lens system that collects the laser lights from the laser projection unit, a liquid crystal cell that spatially modulates the collected laser lights, a camera shake correcting optical system that is capable of translating vertically and horizontally on a plane that is perpendicular to the optical axis of the laser projection unit, a prism that transmits the laser lights from the liquid crystal cell and branches the light reflected by the screen, and a camera device that can observe or capture the video image that is branched by the prism. The present invention provides a video projector that can prevent the camera shake and can be held in hands.

摘要: In a laser display that displays a video by scanning a beam from a laser light source two-dimensionally on a screen, the image quality being displayed is deteriorated markedly by speckle noises induced from coherency of the light source. A method for oscillating the screen to remove the speckles has problems that a large-scale device is necessary and the screen cannot be chosen without any restrain.A speckle pattern being generated is changed at a high speed by oscillating a light spot on the screen at a high speed using beam oscillation means 3, so that the viewer acknowledges time-mean image having no speckle noises.

摘要: A 2-D beam scan method using a galvanometer mirror and a polygon scanner has a problem that the polygon scanner is large and noises are increased. Also, a method of oscillating a compact mirror has a problem that a brightness distribution is produced depending on a scan angle. Hence, a beam is scanned while a relatively small mirror, such as an MEMS mirror, is oscillated at or in the vicinity of the resonance frequency. In this instance, the scan angle is corrected with the use of a correction optical system for uniform illumination to be achieved.

摘要: The present invention provides a surface illuminator having a uniform luminance over a large area by using a laser light source, having a wide color reproduction range, and capable of suppressing a speckle noise, as well as a liquid crystal display using the same. The surface illuminator of the present invention includes the laser light source that emits a laser beam; a beam scan section that deflects and scans the laser beam; and a first plate-shaped light guide that makes the laser beam deflected and scanned by the beam scan section to be incident from an end face portion and making the incident laser beam to emit from a first major surface. Further, the liquid crystal display of the present invention includes a liquid crystal display panel and the surface illuminator, wherein the surface illuminator is used as a backlight illuminator that lights the liquid crystal display panel from backside in this liquid crystal display.
