Abstract: A shaped reflective polarizer has different maximum sags in different directions and has an interior portion rotationally symmetric about a principle axis and a peripheral portion adjacent the interior portion and rotationally asymmetric about the principle axis. An optical system includes a partial reflector and an optical stack including an optical lens and the shaped reflective polarizer disposed on a curved major surface of the optical lens. The optical lens may have a contoured edge adapted to be placed adjacent an eye of a viewer and substantially conform to the viewer's face.

Abstract: A telescopic/image capture device that allows for the concurrent viewing and capturing an image of an object, wherein the captured image is magnified to the same level than that of the viewed image. Further included are filters incorporated into the device to allow for the attenuation of light in undesired wavelengths while allowing light in desired wavelengths to pass unattenuated. In still a further aspect of the invention, a second telescopic lens is incorporated into the path of light to be captured by the image capture device, wherein the image captured and recorded is of a greater magnification than that of the user viewable image.

Abstract: A laser processing system includes a laser source, an optical splitting unit, a frequency conversion unit and at least one optical mixer. The optical splitting unit is provided to divide light emitted by the laser source into a first light and a second light, and the first light and the second light have the same wavelength range. The frequency conversion unit is provided to convert the second light into a working light. The working light includes a frequency converted light, and the frequency converted light and the second light have different wavelength ranges. The optical mixer is provided to mix the first light with the frequency converted light.

Abstract: A technical solution is provided, which allows generating a high-quality digital image using multiple CCD arrays. More specifically, a lens generates an image on an area equal to the sum of photosensitive areas of n CCD arrays. The CCD arrays are shifted from one another. The image is projected via four channels onto all the CCD arrays such that each of said arrays generates a video signal from only one of n sectors of the image. The video signals from the CCD arrays, which operate on a conventional scanning standard and in parallel, are digitized, pre-processed and recorded in a memory from which they are read at a rate n times higher than a clock rate. A digital image is produced by electronically combining the video signals from the CCD arrays that convert adjacent sectors of the image, after which the video signal is post-processed.

Abstract: An optical system includes a partial reflector having an average optical reflectance of at least 30% in a plurality of wavelengths, an image source disposed to emit image light toward the partial reflector, and a reflective polarizer disposed proximate the partial reflector. The reflective polarizer is curved about two orthogonal axes and can include at least one layer substantially optically uniaxial at at least one location. The image light may be transmitted by the reflective polarizer after it is first reflected by the reflective polarizer. Substantially any chief light ray having at least first and second wavelengths at least 150 nm apart in the plurality of wavelengths and emitted by the image source and transmitted by a stop surface or exit pupil of the optical system has a color separation distance of less than 1.5 percent of a field of view.

The third engaging port is configured to selectively engage one of the first engaging port and the second engaging port. When the third engaging port is engaged with the first engaging port, the light emitter is optically coupled to the light reflecting member. When the third engaging port is engaged with the second engaging port, the light receiver is optically coupled to the light reflecting member.
