摘要： There provided a lubricant composition that without any excess increase of the steering torque of an electric power steering apparatus and without any generation of sliding noise, reduces rattling sound thereby excel in the effect of noise reduction in automobile compartment, and is capable of favorably sustaining the above effect even when continuously used in high-temperature environment for a prolonged period of time; a speed reduction gear using the lubricant composition; and an electric power steering apparatus. The lubricant composition includes buffer particles of a polyurethane resin synthesized by reacting a polycarbonate polyol, cross-linking agent having three or more active hydrogen groups per molecule and a polyisocyanate. The speed reduction gear (50) is filled with the lubricant composition. The electric power steering apparatus incorporates the speed reduction gear therein.

摘要： A lubricant composition comprising a lubricating base oil, fine particles and a calcium sulfonate-based thickener, a speed reduction gear filled with the lubricant composition, and an electric power steering apparatus comprising the speed reduction gear are disclosed. It is possible to reduce the operating noise of a speed reduction gear regardless of the amount of backlash that occurs on combining a small gear and a large gear without a more complicate structure of the speed reduction gear by an action of the fine particles while preventing separation of oil by an action of the calcium sulfonate-based thickener added to the lubricant composition, and thus the noise in the inside of car generated by the electric power steering apparatus can be reduced with a low cost.

摘要： A novel lubricant composition is provided, which is free from an increase in consistency, separation of its lubricant base oil, and leakage of the separated lubricant base oil from a speed reduction gear or the like even if a stress is repeatedly applied to the composition over a long period of time. A speed reduction gear employing the lubricant composition, and an electric power steering apparatus are also provided. The lubricant composition employs at least two types of thickeners including lithium stearate in combination, and has a worked penetration of not less than 355 (at 25° C.). The speed reduction gear 50 is filled with the lubricant composition containing minute particles, and the electric power steering apparatus includes the speed reduction gear.

摘要： An annular stopper (22) made of synthetic resin is inserted into a housing (5). The housing (5) contains a rack (4) meshing with a pinion which rotates according to steering operation. A reaction force acts on the stopper (22) so that the inward movement of the stopper (22) into the housing (5) is restrained. At least part of the reaction force acts on an end face (22c) of the stopper (22) when the stopper (22) restrains the rack (4) from moving into one direction.

摘要： A method of making a coated article is provided. The method includes electrostatically depositing powder onto a metallic article to be coated using an electrostatic spray gun while the metallic article is being rotated around its axis such that the powder is deposited around the entire circumference of the metallic article at least in a radially outward peripheral region having projections and depressions and that the powder deposited on top of the projections is larger in thickness than the powder deposited in other parts of the metallic article. Melting of the powder is performed by induction heating the metallic article to make a coating film adhere to the metallic article.
