摘要: The present disclosure relates to methods for improving phosphorus retention and improving antiwear performance in an internal combustion engine of a hybrid vehicle, comprising lubricating the internal combustion engine of the hybrid vehicle with a lubricating oil composition comprising: greater than 50 wt. % of a base oil of lubricating viscosity; and an amount of one or more zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate compound(s) sufficient to provide: from about 100 ppmw phosphorus to about 1000 ppmw phosphorus, based on a total weight of the lubricating oil composition; and from about 10 ppmw zinc to about 1200 ppmw zinc, based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition.

摘要: An overbased calcium sulfonate grease composition comprising a reduced amount of overbased calcium sulfonate, calcium hydroxyapatite, base oil, one or more converting agents, and one or more complexing acids if a complex grease is desired. The calcium sulfonate grease composition improves thickener yield and expected high temperature utility as demonstrated by dropping point. A method of making the composition comprising the steps of mixing the calcium sulfonate and base oil, adding the calcium carbonate either before or after conversion, adding one or more converting agents, and adding one or more complexing acids. All or a portion of one or more of the complexing acids may be added with or prior to the one or more converting agents.

摘要: A wellbore servicing fluid comprises an aqueous base fluid, one or more alkali metal or alkali earth metal salts, at least one visocisifier, and a filtration control package. The filtration control package may comprise a carboxylic acid and an ethoxylated alcohol compound. Alternatively, the filtration control package may comprise a polyethylene glycol. The carboxylic acid may have from 8 to 20 carbon atoms. The ethoxylated alcohol compound may have a general formula R—(OCH2CH2)X—OH, where R is a hydrocarbon having from 10 to 16 atoms and x is an integer from 6 to 9. The ethoxylated alcohol compound may have a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance of from 8.0 to 16.0. The polyethylene glycol may have a mass average molar mass (Mw) of less than or equal to 1500 daltons.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for block operation during lubricant and/or fuels production from deasphalted oil. During “block” operation, a deasphalted oil and/or the hydroprocessed effluent from an initial processing stage can be split into a plurality of fractions. The fractions can correspond, for example, to feed fractions suitable for forming a light neutral fraction, a heavy neutral fraction, and a bright stock fraction, or the plurality of fractions can correspond to any other convenient split into separate fractions. The plurality of separate fractions can then be processed separately in the process train (or in the sweet portion of the process train) for forming fuels and/or lubricant base stocks. The separate processing can allow for selection of conditions for forming lubricant fractions, such as bright stock fractions, that have a cloud point that is lower than the pour point.

摘要: The present invention provides a process for in situ synthesis of dispersion of ZnO and TiO2 nanoparticles in an oil medium, wherein the process comprises: (a) providing layered basic zinc hydroxide (LBZ) in an oil medium, containing a dispersant, (b) providing a titanium precursor in the oil medium to obtain a mixture, (c) hydrolyzing the mixture to obtain a suspension, and (d) decomposing the suspension to obtain a dispersion of mixture of ZnO and TiO2 nanoparticles. The present invention also provides an oil dispersion comprising dispersant stabilized mixture of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide nanoparticles were synthesized through this process. The dispersion contains up to 2.5 Wt % metals loading balanced with dispersant and base oil or dispersant alone. Addition of this dispersion to oil of lubricating viscosity improves the anti-wear property and resulting a low SAPS formulation.

The lubricating grease compositions find use especially in the high-temperature sector, for example for the lubrication of oven pullout rails.
