    Abstract: A robot cleaner according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a travelling part for moving a body; a memory for storing travel state information of the traveling part, which is recorded while a cleaning operation is performed on the basis of a first map; and a control part for discriminately detecting a first area and a second area divided from a plurality of cleaning areas corresponding to the first map, on the basis of the stored travel state information. Moreover, the control part may generate a second map by removing one of the first area and the second area from the first map, and then control the travelling part to perform a cleaning operation in a changed cleaning mode on the basis of the generated second map.

    Abstract: A rotary compressor is provided that may include a casing, a cylinder having an inner circumferential surface in an annular shape, a roller rotatably disposed in a compression space of the cylinder, a rotational shaft coupled to an inner circumference of the roller, main and sub bearings defining surfaces of the compression space, and a sub bearing cover coupled to the sub bearing to cover one end of the sub bearing and defining a discharge chamber with the sub bearing to communicate with the compression space so as to accommodate compressed refrigerant to be discharged. The sub bearing or the sub bearing cover may include a first barrier rib that protrudes from a surface thereof located inside of the discharge chamber. The first barrier rib may be spaced apart from a surface opposite to the surface within the discharge chamber by a predetermined distance.

    Abstract: An artificial intelligence (AI) mobile robot and a method of controlling the same for learning an obstacle are configured to capture an image while traveling through an image acquirer, to store a plurality of captured image data, to determine an obstacle from image data, to set a response motion corresponding to the obstacle, and to operate the set response motion depending on the obstacle, and thus, the obstacle is recognized through the captured image data, the obstacle is easily determined by repeatedly learning an image, and the obstacle is determined before the obstacle is detected or from a time point of detecting the obstacle to perform an operation of a response motion, and even if the same detection signal is input when a plurality of different obstacles is detected, the obstacle is determined through the image and different operations are performed depending on the obstacle to respond to various obstacles, and accordingly, the obstacle is effectively avoided and an operation is performed depending on a type of the obstacle.

    Abstract: A rotary compressor may include a cylinder having an inner peripheral surface defined in an annular shape to define a compression space, and a suction port that extends in a lateral direction to communicate with the compression space and through which refrigerant is suctioned into the compression space; a roller rotatably provided in the compression space of the cylinder, and having a plurality of vane slots that provides a back pressure at one side thereinside provided at a predetermined interval along an outer peripheral surface of the roller; a plurality of vanes slidably inserted into the plurality of vane slots, respectively, to rotate together with the roller, front end surfaces of which come into contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder due to the back pressure to partition the compression space into a plurality of compression chambers; and a main bearing and a sub bearing provided at ends of the cylinder and in contact with surfaces of the plurality of vanes, respectively, and spaced apart from each other to define surfaces of the compression space, respectively. At least one surface of the vane in contact with the main bearing and the sub bearing may be a curved surface having a predetermined curvature.

    Abstract: A method for enhancing illumination intensity of an image according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include receiving an image, determining a filter application scheme by using a neural network model trained to enhance the illumination intensity of the image, and outputting an image having enhanced illumination intensity by applying, to the image, the determined filter application scheme. The neural network model trained using machine learning includes a first group of layers for extracting feature information of the image, a second group of layers for determining a type of filter based on the extracted feature information, and a third group of layers for determining the optimal parameter for the filter based on the extracted feature information. The neural network model may be provided through an external server in an IoT environment using a 5G network.
