    Abstract: An aerosol system or method for mixing first and second materials. The system comprises first and second container assemblies and a coupler. The first container assembly contains the second material and a propellant material that pressurizes the second material. The second container assembly contains the second material. The coupler is arranged to couple the first and second container assemblies, thereby forcing the second material into the second container assembly such that the first and second materials mix. The resulting mixture may then be dispensed from the second container assembly using an actuator member. In one case, the first container assembly comprises a male-type valve assembly and the second container assembly comprises a female type valve assembly. In another case, the first material is a catalyst and the second material is a pigmented liquid, which, when mixed, are suitable for repairing a damaged surface.

    Abstract: A dispenser for an aerosol system for dispensing liquid material includes an outlet member, a collar member, an actuator member, and a selector member. The outlet member defines an outlet opening. The actuator member supports the collar member and the outlet member such that movement of the collar member relative to the actuator member causes the collar member to deform the outlet member. Movement of the selector member relative to the collar member causes movement of the collar member relative to the actuator member. Deformation of the outlet member alters a cross-sectional area of the outlet opening.

    Abstract: A method of applying texture material to a destination surface defining a pre-textured portion formed by a spray system and an untextured portion, comprising the following steps. A flexible container, texture, material, a sponge base, a resilient sponge are provided. The resilient sponge is adhered to the sponge base to form a sponge assembly. The texture material is arranged within the container chamber, and the sponge member is fixed relative to the container. Texture material is forced out of the container member and onto an applicator surface. At least a portion of the texture material on the applicator surface is transferred to the untextured portion of the destination surface by displacing the container member along the dispensing axis towards the destination surface with the applicator surface substantially parallel to the destination surface. The container member is then displaced away from the destination surface along the dispensing axis with the applicator surface substantially parallel to the destination surface such that an exposed portion of the particulate material on the untextured portion of the destination surface stands out from the destination surface and is visually perceptible.

    Abstract: An aerosol texturing system for applying a layer of texture material on an uncoated portion of a substrate substantially to match a coated portion of the substrate, comprises an aerosol assembly, texture material, and propellant material. The aerosol assembly defines a product chamber and is selectively operable in a first mode in which the product chamber is sealed and in a second mode in which fluid is allowed to flow out of the product chamber along a dispensing passageway. The texture material and propellant material are disposed within the product chamber. The texture material has a base portion and a particulate portion containing at least one particulate material. When the aerosol assembly is in the second mode, the propellant material is adapted to force the texture material out of the aerosol assembly along the dispensing passageway and onto the uncoated portion of the substrate.
