    Abstract: A latch assembly for driving a closure panel from a closed panel position to an open panel position. The latch assembly comprises: a latch mechanism having a first latch element for retaining a mating latch component in a latched position and for moving the mating latch component from the latched position to an unlatched position when released, the movement of the first latch element biased towards the unlatched position by a latch biasing element; and an actuation system having: a mechanical energy storage system having a device for storing mechanical potential energy for assisting the latch biasing element in moving the mating latch component from the latched position to the unlatched position; a mechanical advantage system having a plurality of advantage elements for engaging the device, such that movement of the plurality of advantage elements is associated with a trigger force and cooperation of the plurality of advantage elements provides for amplification of the trigger force as an initiating force to release the stored mechanical potential energy; and a trigger system configured to provide the trigger force to release the stored mechanical potential energy.

    Abstract: A power door actuation system for moving a vehicle door relative to a vehicle body between an open position and a closed position includes a motor assembly connectable to one of the vehicle door and the vehicle body that is configured to generate a rotational force. A drive shaft is interconnected to the motor assembly and extends from a first end disposed adjacent the motor assembly to a second end. The second end of the drive shaft is rigidly attached to one of a body strap or a door strap of a hinge for transferring the rotational force from the motor assembly to the respective rigidly attached strap to rotate the respective rigidly attached strap relative to the other of the door strap and the body strap for automatically moving the vehicle door between the open and closed positions.

The 3D luminescent structure includes a photoluminescence material configured to emit visible light having at least one second wavelength different from the first wavelength and in response to excitation by the light having the first wavelength. A lighting element for a vehicle includes a flat panel and a support structure holding the flat panel at a fixed position. The flat panel includes a photoluminescence material configured to emit visible light in response to an excitation by light having a wavelength different from the visible light. The support structure appears unilluminated to present an effect wherein the flat panel appears to float in space.

    Abstract: A digital imaging system and method of image data processing are provided. The system includes a main lens configured to focus light from a field of view for a plurality of depths of field and project a plurality of intermediary images representing the depths of field. An image sensor assembly is in a spaced relationship with the main lens and includes a light sensors grouped into sensor sub-arrays. An intermediate microlens array is disposed between the main lens and the image sensor assembly and includes intermediate micro lenses adjacent to and abutting one another to focus the intermediary images onto one of the sensor sub-arrays from a different perspective than another adjacent micro lens. A control unit captures and stores image data associated with the intermediary images and creates a three-dimensional depth map. The control unit also calculates distance information of objects to detect a gesture or obstacle.

A heater member is disposed between the housing and the light-transmissive lens.
