摘要： Disclosed is a wide picture plane/standard picture plane television signal receiving apparatus which comprises: a first signal processing circuit for doubling the scanning speed of an input standard television signal; an aspect ratio conversion circuit for converting a display aspect ratio of the double scanning speed television signal from the first signal processing circuit into a wide aspect ratio; a second signal processing circuit for processing an input EDTV television signal into a double scanning speed television signal with a wide aspect ratio; a first signal selection circuit for selecting one of the respective output signals from the aspect ratio conversion circuit and the second signal processing circuit; a wide aspect display device for displaying the selected output signal from the first signal selection circuit; an EDTV signal detection circuit for detecting the processing effected on the EDTV signal in the second signal processing circuit to thereby switch the contact of the first signal selection circuit to its second signal processing circuit side from its first signal processing circuit side.

摘要： A video signal processing circuit of motion adaptive type includes a circuit for identifying motion of a picture in a video signal on the basis of a difference signal between at least a line signal appearing in an M-th field and a corresponding line signal appearing in an (M-1)th field so that, when a scanning line produced on the basis of the video signal is interpolated between scanning lines of the video signal to improve the picture quality, a signal for interpolating said scanning line is produced in a different manner depending on whether a portion of the video signal to the displayed is a still picture or a moving picture. The motion identifying circuit comprises a horizontal filter spreading the difference signal in the horizontal direction, a circuit delaying the output signal of the horizontal filter by one field after attenuation, a line memory delaying the output signal of the attenuating and delaying circuit by one line, and an output circuit generating a signal identifying the motion of the picture on the basis of the output signals of the horizontal filter, attenuating and delaying circuit and line memory.

摘要： A motion information signal generating circuit comprises a motion detecting circuit for detecting a piece of motion information from a digitized television signal; a temporal-spatial signal processing circuit for expanding a signal representing the so detected motion information both in time and space and a noise eliminator circuit connected between the motion detecting circuit and the temporal-spatial signal processing circuit. The noise eliminator circuit has at least one 1H memory to detect the correlation between the motion information signals pertaining to two adjacent picture elements which are one horizontal sweep line part, and for instance, the motion information signal of a smaller data quantity is selected, thereby preventing appearance of a false motion signal which would be caused by a noise of increased amplitude.

摘要： A display apparatus for a television or computer terminal having a cathode ray tube with a deflection coil. The display apparatus includes a signal processing circuit which compresses a display period in a horizontal scanning period of an input video signal and which expands a blanking interval of the horizontal scanning period of the video signal, the signal processing circuit providing an output of the video signal to the cathode ray tube, and a horizontal retrace interval expansion circuit which expands a horizontal retrace line interval of a horizontal deflection current for the deflection coil of the cathode ray tube in accordance with the blanking period expanded by the signal processing circuit. The cathode ray tube displays the input video signal in accordance with the output of the signal processing circuit and the output of the horizontal retrace interval expansion circuit.
