A light-emitting device emits an optical signal. A plurality of optical signal-processing elements each apply processing to the optical signal in a manner unique to a corresponding one of the circuit boards to thereby generate a processed optical signal. A mounting information-collecting device receives the processed optical signal and detects whether or not the processing has been applied, to thereby collect the mounting information.

摘要： A failure detection system detects a failure of a package in a redundant system having a duplex package configuration. The failure detection system includes a first package including a signal processor for carrying out a predetermined signal processing on an input signal to the first package, where the first package is provided in each of first and second systems, a second package including a selector for selectively outputting an output signal of the signal processor of the first package in one of the first and second systems in response to a control signal, a failure detector for detecting a failure in the output signal of the signal processor of the first package in each of the first and second systems and for outputting a failure detection signal if the failure is detected, and a signal processor for carrying out a predetermined signal processing on the output signal of the selector, where the second package is provided in each of first and second systems, and a controller for supplying the control signal to the selector of the second package in each of the first and second systems based on the failure detection signal received from the second package in each of the first and second systems, so that the selector selectively outputs the output signal of the signal processor of the first package in an active one of the first and second systems. The controller includes a mechanism for disregarding the failure detection signal received from the second package during a predetermined time in response to a predetermined signal. This predetermined signal may indicate which one of the first and second systems is active or, indicate whether or not the second package of each of the first and second systems is mounted on a unit to which the first package of each of the first and second systems is mounted.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an interface unit which receives print data and file data; a printing unit which prints an image on a recording medium; a writing unit which stores tag data in a non-contact type tag when the recording medium provides the non-contact type tag; a buffer unit in which file data is stored in the non-contact type tag; and a control unit which controls the printing unit and the writing unit. The control unit stores the file data in the buffer unit when the file data is received. The control unit controls the printing unit to form an image on the recording medium based upon content of the print data when the print data is received. The control unit controls the writing unit to store the file data stored in the buffer unit in the non-contact type tag.

摘要： An aspect of the invention provides an image forming apparatus including: a image forming section that forms an image based on a print data on at least one sheet equipped with a non-contact tag; a writing section that wirelessly writes a tag data into the non-contact tag of the at least one sheet; a first cassette that holds a plurality of sheets equipped with first type non-contact tags having a first storage capacity; a second cassette that holds a plurality of sheets equipped with second type non-contact tags having a second storage capacity larger than the first storage capacity; and a selecting section that selects a print cassette from among the first and second cassettes based on a data size of the tag data. The at least one sheet on which the image is formed by the image forming section is provided from the print cassette.

摘要： In an image heating apparatus, outer peripheral surfaces of two endless belts are held in contact with each other to form a nip portion, and a recording material bearing a toner image is heated at the nip portion while being pinched and conveyed. In the image heating apparatus, the nip portion has a pre-nip portion formed by regions of the endless belts with no backup by pressure members, and a pressure nip portion where one endless belt with backup by the pressure members is held in contact with another endless belt. The image heating apparatus is capable of securing a large nip width compatible with an increase in speed and free from “pressure-absence” leading to image abnormality such as misregistration, thus enabling an image having a sufficient gloss to be obtained.
