Abstract: Devices, systems, and techniques for monitoring the temperature of a device used to charge a rechargeable power source are disclosed. Implantable medical devices may include a rechargeable power source that can be transcutaneously charged. The temperature of an external charging device and/or an implantable medical device may be monitored to control the temperature exposure to patient tissue during a charging session used to recharge the rechargeable power source. In one example, a temperature sensor may sense a temperature of an internal portion of a device, wherein the housing of the device is not directly thermally coupled to the temperature sensor. A temperature for the housing of the device may then be estimated based on the sensed temperature provided by the non-thermally coupled temperature sensor. A processor may then control charging of the rechargeable power source based on the determined temperature for the housing.

Abstract: A stimulation therapy system dynamically modifies therapy intensity based on measured neurotransmitter levels. In some examples, the system delivers, via an electrode implanted in a brain of a patient and stimulation circuitry, an electrical stimulus; monitors an electrical current generated by the stimulation circuitry to deliver the electrical stimulus; determines, based on the electrical current, a value representative of a concentration of dopamine in the brain of the patient; determines, based on the value representative of the concentration of dopamine, a value for one or more stimulation parameters that at least partially define electrical stimulation therapy; and delivers, via the electrode, the electrical stimulation therapy.

Abstract: An enzymatic sensor configured to determine the concentration of levodopa present in a sample according to a current or a resonant frequency produced in response to levodopa interactions with L-amino acid decarboxylase present in the sensor. A processor associated with the sensor determines levodopa concentration and produces dose recommendation or output according to levodopa concentration.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and techniques are disclosed for managing electrical stimulation therapy and/or sensing of physiological signals such as brain signals. For example, a system is configured to receive, for each electrode combination of a plurality of electrode combinations, information representing a signal sensed in response to first electrical stimulation delivered to a patient via a lead, wherein the plurality of electrode combinations comprise different electrode combinations comprising electrode disposed at different positions around a perimeter of the lead implanted in the patient. The system may also be configured to determine, based on the information for each electrode combination of the plurality of electrode combinations, values for a threshold at different locations around the perimeter of the lead and determine, based on the values for the threshold, one or more stimulation parameter values that at least partially define second electrical stimulation deliverable to the patient via the lead.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and techniques are configured for identifying stimulation parameter values based on electrical stimulation that induces dyskinesia for the patient. For example, a method may include controlling, by processing circuitry, a medical device to deliver electrical stimulation to a portion of a brain of a patient, receiving, by the processing circuitry, information representative of an electrical signal sensed from the brain after delivery of the electrical stimulation, determining, by the processing circuitry and from the information representative of the electrical signal, a peak in a spectral power of the electrical signal at a second frequency lower than a first frequency of the electrical stimulation, and responsive to determining the peak in the spectral power of the electrical signal at the second frequency, performing, by the processing circuitry, an action.

Abstract: Techniques are described for real-time phase detection. For the phase detection, a signal is correlated with a frequency component of a frequency band whose phase is being detected, and the correlation includes predominantly decreasing weighting of past portions of the signals.

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to devices, systems, and techniques for determining one or more phase relationships. A medical device system includes a memory and processing circuitry in communication with the memory. The processing circuitry is configured to receive a plurality of electrical signals which indicate a phase relationship between two or more tissue regions within a target area of neural tissue of a patient. Additionally, the processing circuitry is configured to determine, based on the plurality of electrical signals, the phase relationship between the two or more tissue regions, and compare the phase relationship with a target phase relationship for the two or more tissue regions within the target area. The processing circuitry is further configured to determine, based on the comparison, one or more parameters of stimulation for delivery to the patient and cause a therapy delivery circuit to determine the stimulation.
