    摘要: A multipath signal searcher (204) used in CDMA wireless communication systems is provided. Search paths (214) of the multipath signal searcher are grouped together and assigned by an offset assignment/timing block (210) to search a time offset within a search window. The search paths may be operated In serial or parallel operation mode. In either mode, the search paths are individually assigned to search over one of a group of time offsets that are distributed across the search window evenly. In parallel mode, the search paths are not only grouped to search only a given set of time offsets within the search window, but different groups of search paths are offset to commence searching at different times then other groups of search paths to more quickly update a finger manager and more quickly retrieve the mobile communication signal.

    摘要: Apparatus and methods for use in a wireless communication system are disclosed for recovery of timing tracking in a device, such as a wireless transceiver, after decoding errors occur due to incorrect timing tracking. In particular, the disclosed methods and apparatus recover timing tracking by monitoring a decoded signal in the transceiver for decoding errors occurring during a first frame, determining whether a number of decoding errors is greater than a predetermined amount, reacquiring a first pilot channel at a start of a subsequently received second frame when the number of decoding errors is determined to be greater than the predetermined amount, and resetting timing tracking of the transceiver based on the reacquired first pilot channel.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus for estimating a loop delay value (Ndelay) in an interference cancellation repeater are presented. For example, a method may include setting a repeater gain to an initial gain value, setting a delay parameter to an initial time value, and measuring a loop gain associated with the delay parameter and the repeater gain by detecting a feedback signal with an echo canceller disabled. The method may further include determining whether the measured loop gain is larger than a previously measured loop gain, and if so, designating the delay parameter as the loop delay value (Ndelay); and decrementing the delay parameter when the measured loop gain is not larger than the previously measured loop gain, and when the delay parameter is not at a final time value. The method may iterate until the delay parameter is less than or equal to the final time value.

    摘要: Techniques for performing system selection and acquisition are described. In one design, a terminal may obtain at least one system record for at least one system utilizing orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) or single-carrier frequency division multiplexing (SC-FDM). Each system record may include system identification information for an associated system and an index for an associated acquisition record. The terminal may also obtain at least one acquisition record for the at least one system. Each acquisition record may include at least one value for at least one configurable system parameter, e.g., FFT size, cyclic prefix length, number of guard subcarriers, etc. The terminal may perform acquisition for the at least one system in accordance with the at least one system record and the at least one acquisition record. The system and acquisition records may be stored in a Preferred Roaming List (PRL) or a Most Recently Used (MRU) list.

In an embodiment, a method is provided for timing acquisition in a wireless network. The method includes acquiring samples from an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) data packet over a predetermined period of time, where the samples include one or more TDM pilot symbols. The samples are then processed to determine a maximum value that indicates the TDM pilot symbol has been detected.
