Abstract:
A document is fed from a document tray to a reading station. When the document after being read is discharged by way of a discharge path, the document is halted by a control roller for discharging, instead of being discharged completely. That is, the document is discharged only when the read image is recorded on a sheet and the sheet after recording is discharged completely. When the sheet is not discharged and hence an anomaly is detected, the document set on standby at the discharge position is conveyed along an inverting path and conveyance path to a document registration roller in order to allow the document to be fed to the reading station with its image face presented on the reading position.
Abstract:
The control circuit includes: a series circuit of a first triac and a reactor; and a second triac in parallel with this series circuit so as to perform control of activation of a fixing heater. Since the fixing heater has a low resistance when the power switch is first turned on, the first triac is operated to perform phase angle control of current flow, and when the phase angle has become approximately equal to 180.degree., the first triac is stopped, at the same time the second triac starts to be operated. The switching from the first triac to the second triac is made quickly so that it is possible to reduce the power consumption from the reactor.
Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus, guidance information is stored in advance for guiding an optimal operation procedure for execution of a job, and the guidance information is displayed on a display portion based on operation input that is input to an input portion in order to execute a job of image formation. For example, a device control portion compares operation input that is input to the input portion in order to execute the job of image formation to the guidance information corresponding to the job executed by the operation input, and causes the display portion to display the guidance information in a case where an actual frequency of operation input is greater than a frequency of operation input that is specified in an operation procedure of the guidance information.
Abstract:
A fuel cell assembly has a housing defining an electricity generation/combustion chamber, and electricity generation/combustion means disposed within the housing. A fuel gas and an oxygen-containing gas are supplied to the electricity generation/combustion means, and a combustion gas formed within the electricity generation/combustion chamber is discharged from the electricity generation/combustion chamber. A heat exchanger having a first channel and a second channel is disposed on at least one surface of the housing, the combustion gas is discharged from the interior of the electricity generation/combustion chamber through the first channel of the heat exchanger, and one of the oxygen-containing gas and the fuel gas is supplied to the electricity generation/combustion means through the second channel of the heat exchanger. A plurality of electricity generation units are arranged in parallel within the housing, and each of the electricity generation units includes a cell stack constituting the electricity generation/combustion means.

To provide a piezoelectric transformer which can reduce the capacity of an input unit and realize a impedance matching with a drive circuit of an input side. A piezoelectric transformer includes: a piezoelectric substrate (11) having both main surfaces of a rectangular shape; and input side electrodes (12, 13, 15, 16) and output side electrodes (14, 17) formed on the both main surfaces of the piezoelectric substrate (11). A pair of opposing input side electrodes (12, 13, 15, 16) are arranged on the both surfaces of the piezoelectric substrate (11) in the first input unit (A1) and the second input unit (A2). At least one of the pair of input side electrodes (12, 13, 15, 16) is a partial electrode arranged at the center portion of the main surface of the piezoelectric substrate (11) in the first input unit (A1) and the second input unit (A2).

a parts marketing system includes: a database unit for storing distribution data of dimensions or characteristics of each lot, and price and delivery date with respect to delivery parts; an input unit for inputting the customer's product specifications and the distribution data of dimensions or characteristics of parts combined by the customer; a simulation unit for retrieving required information from the database unit, based on information from the input unit, and for selecting parts lot having optimal distribution data of dimensions or characteristics using a simulator; and an output unit for indicating an estimation sheet including the distribution data of dimensions or characteristics, the delivery date and the price with respect to the selected optimal parts lot, whereby an estimate can be instantly presented to the customer without restriction of time and place, thereby curtailing cost and delivery date of delivery parts. Ultimately, manufacture cost for assembling in the customer's site can be reduced.
Abstract:
A piezoelectric resonator comprising a piezoelectric substrate having a tapered portion as viewed from the side thereof, and drive electrodes provided on both opposing tapered surfaces of said tapered portion. The piezoelectric resonator corrects the dispersion in the thickness of the piezoelectric substrate relying upon the positions where the drive electrodes are formed, and makes it easy to finely adjust he frequency for compensating the dispersion in the thickness.

A printing apparatus includes a print head section having a nozzle for discharging ink; a paper feed section for feeding paper in a paper feed direction; a movement section for reciprocally moving the print head along a track formed in a direction perpendicular to the paper feed direction; a maintenance section for performing a maintenance operation on the nozzle; a case for accommodating the above-mentioned sections; a cover attached to the case in an openable and closable manner; a detection section for detecting open and closed states of the cover and outputting detection signals representative of the open and closed states of the cover; and a control section for controlling drive of the movement section and the maintenance section according to the detection signals output by the detection section. The maintenance section includes two maintenance stations mounted on both ends of the track, and the control section gives an instruction such that the print head moving to one of the maintenance stations is stopped at a stop position established on the track, in response to the detection signal representative of the open state of the cover.
Abstract:
A piezoelectric resonator having a resonator element in or on a substrate, said resonator element comprising a laminate of a plurality of piezoelectric ceramic layers and a plurality of electrode layers which are alternately laminated one upon the other, the piezoelectric ceramic layers neighboring up and down being set to oscillate in opposite phases relative to each other. In the piezoelectric resonator, the piezoelectric ceramic layers neighboring up and down undergo the thickness longitudinal oscillation in opposite phases, suppressing the oscillation of the fundamental mode and strongly exciting the oscillation of a mode of a high degree of not lower than the second degree. The piezoelectric resonator utilizing the mode of a high degree of not lower than the second degree is little affected by spurious caused by the oscillation of the fundamental mode.
Abstract:
A document feeder includes: a document detecting device arranged on the top of the copier body, for detecting a document inserted from the outside; a feed roller arranged adjacent to the document detecting device, on the top of the copier body, for feeding an inserted document into a space between the original table and the original cover, in response to the detection of a document by the document detecting device; and an original cover lifting device arranged on the top of the copier body, for lifting the original cover to create a gap between the original table and the original cover, in response to the detection of a document by the document detecting device. Alternatively, the feed roller further has a rotary cam on its shaft, so that the cam rotates to lift the original cover up as the feed roller rotates in the document feeding direction. Then, after the document is fed in place, the feed roller is reversely rotated in a constant time, whereby the document cover is sunk to press the document onto the original table.
