    Abstract: A photoelectric composite connector includes a first fitting member including a first holding member holding at least one first optical fiber, and at least one first electric connecting portion, and a second fitting member including a second holding member holding at least one second optical fiber, and at least one second electric connecting portion. The first and second fitting members are constituted as to fit into and onto each other so that the first and second optical fibers are optically connected and the first and second electric connecting portions are electrically connected. The first and second fitting members includes a protecting section to prevent foreign materials generated during fitting of the first and second fitting members from entering into at least the first and second holding members.

    Abstract: An optical connection module for an endoscope includes: an optical fiber having a fiber end surface and configured to guide a part of emitted light emitted from a light source and incident on the fiber end surface; a ferrule having a ferrule end surface with an opening of a through-hole into which the optical fiber is inserted, the ferrule including a scatterer configured to scatter, in an inside of the ferrule, a part of the emitted light incident on the ferrule end surface, the ferrule being configured to emit scattered light generated by scattering from a side surface; and an optical sensor arranged in the periphery of the side surface of the ferrule and configured to receive the scattered light.

    Abstract: An illumination unit includes a light guide to guide primary light, a conversion member to convert the primary light into secondary light, and a holder holding an exit end of the light guide and the conversion member. The holder includes an entrance portion that the primary light enters, an exit portion to emit illumination light including the secondary light, and a fixing portion fixing the conversion member between the entrance portion and the exit portion in a direction of a central axis of the primary light. The fixing portion is arranged in a planar region perpendicular to the central axis of the primary light and on an inner peripheral face of the holder. The conversion member is in contact with the fixing portion.

    Abstract: An endoscope light source apparatus includes a first light source section that emits first light, a second light source section that emits second light, and an optical path combiner that combines an optical path of the first light and an optical path of the second light. The etendue of the first light source section is smaller than the etendue of the second light source section. The optical path combiner has an optical deflection surface that deflects the second light, and has an aperture that allows the first light to pass through it within an area of the optical deflection surface. The optical path combiner deflects the second light so that a center axis of the optical path of the second light deflected by the optical deflection surface corresponds to a center axis of the optical path of the first light that has passed through the aperture.

The light source system further includes a light connector which is provided on the light guide path and optically connects an auxiliary light guide path to the light guide path, such that auxiliary light is guided to the light guide path from the auxiliary light guide path which guides the auxiliary light; and an irradiation module which emits at least one of light-source light which is guided by the light guide path and the auxiliary light which is guided by the light guide path, to an outside of an endoscope as illumination light, and radiates the illumination light to a to-be-illuminated part.
