    Abstract: An endoscope includes an insertion portion in which a rigid distal end portion, a bending portion, and a flexible portion are provided in a connected row arrangement, and an optical fiber that is inserted through the insertion portion. The endoscope has, in the rigid distal end portion, an optical transmission module in which an image pickup device, an optical device in which a light-emitting portion is formed, and a holding member that has a through hole. A length in the bending portion of the optical fiber whose distal end portion is inserted into and fixed in the through hole of the holding member is longer than a length L0 of the bending portion.

    Abstract: An optical module for endoscope includes an optical fiber, an optical element, a first substrate including, on a first principal plane, an insertion hole into which the optical fiber is inserted, the optical element being mounted on a second principal plane of the first substrate, a second substrate, on a third principal plane of which a recessed section in which the optical element is housed is present, and a solder ring that bonds a seal ring of the second principal plane of the first substrate and a guard ring of the third principal plane of the second substrate. The first substrate and the second substrate have the same external dimension in an optical axis orthogonal direction, and side surfaces of the first substrate and the second substrate are present in the same plane.

    Abstract: An image pickup module includes: an optical waveguide plate that includes a first waveguide, a second waveguide, and a third waveguide optically coupled to the first waveguide and the second waveguide through a branch portion; an image pickup device; a first optical device and a second optical device both mounted on the optical waveguide plate; an optical fiber; a ferrule into which the optical fiber is inserted; and a plurality of conductive wires. The ferrule includes a notch on a front surface, and distal end portions of the conductive wires are held between the optical waveguide plate and a surface of the notch of the ferrule. The other components are disposed within a plane of projection of the image pickup device.

    Abstract: An endoscope includes an opto-electric composite module, an optical fiber, and a plurality of electric cables each including a core wire and a shielding wire. The opto-electric composite module includes a light emitting device, a wiring board including a plurality of bonding electrodes to which the plurality of core wires are bonded, a ferrule causing the optical fiber inserted into a first through hole to be optically coupled to the light emitting device, and a cable holder having grooves to which the plurality of core wires are fixed with the plurality of core wires so disposed as to be bonded to the plurality of respective bonding electrodes. The cable holder is a holder conductor electrically connected to a ground potential electrode of the image pickup device, and the shielding wires in the electric cables are bonded to the holder conductor of the cable holder via an electrically conductive member.
