Abstract:
The present invention relates to a sheet conveying apparatus and method using a conveyance belt formed with a plurality of electrodes for attracting a sheet with electrostatic force. The electrodes are applied with a voltage changed along with the lapse of time for generating an attraction force, and the integral value of voltage applied to one electrode has a polarity different from that of the integral value of voltage applied to another adjacent electrode.
Abstract:
A process for producing a light amount-adjusting member such as an ND filter that comprises the steps of providing a transparent base material and a coloring liquid; and applying a coloring liquid to the base material by ejecting the coloring liquid to the base material to form a colored portion having a specified optical density, wherein the coloring liquid contains at least one coloring material of which maximum absorption wavelength is in a range of from 630 to 750 nm when measured on the transparent base material.
Abstract:
An image is printed in an image print area on a recording medium by using a first printing material. Information is printed on an image preservation determination portion in a border portion as an area other than the image print area by using a second printing material which deteriorates faster than the first printing material. This portion is stored as density data, color appearance data, or the like in the apparatus to be used as a criterion for determination of deterioration when the image is to be reused.
Abstract:
A process for producing an information recording medium comprising a substrate and provided thereon a recording layer and protective layer comprises the steps of forming on one substrate sheet a plurality of grooved preformats used for information recording mediums, forming a recording layer on the substrate sheet having thereon said plurality of grooved preformats, forming a protective layer on the substrate sheet on which said recording layer has been formed, and cutting the resulting substrate sheet into individual information recording mediums.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for manufacturing a substrate sheet for information recording mediums having a roll stamper consisting of a flexible stamper having a pattern corresponding to a preformat for an information recording medium, the flexible stamper being fixed along the corresponding periphery of a roll substrate. A roll is placed opposite the roll stamper. A molten-resin sheet wider than the flexible stamper member is formed. The apparatus has means for bringing the edges of a resin sheet into contact with the roll substrate before releasing the resin sheet from the roll stamper. The temperature is controlled, so that a temperature difference on the surfaces of edges of a resin sheet and a preformat pattern transfer area of the resin sheet is kept within 30.degree. C. when the resin sheet is separated from the roll stamper after the molten-resin sheet has been pressed between the roll stamper and roll.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a master holder of a stamper electroforming apparatus and an electroforming method using this master holder. The master holder is for use in a stamper electroforming apparatus that forms a metal film by electroforming on a conductive film formed on a master having a minute relief pattern on its surface; and this master includes: a contact ring for electrically connecting the conductive film to a power source; and a structure for controlling the rate at which the metal film is formed, which structure is provided on the contact ring and adapted to control the metal-film-formation rate such that the thickness of a peripheral portion of the metal film gradually decreases in the vicinity of the contact ring.
Abstract:
A cell culture substrate having at least one area for culturing a cell on a substrate, characterized in that the culturing area comprises an area releasably holding a biologically active substance having a biological activity to the cell and an area for immobilizing a biologically active substance having a biological activity to the cell.
Abstract:
A method for producing an ink jet head including, on a substrate, a piezoelectric element for discharging an ink from a discharge port, and an ink flow path communicating with the discharge port so as to correspond to the piezoelectric element, the method comprising in this order a step of providing, on the substrate, a mold material corresponding to the ink flow path, a step of providing a wall material of the ink flow path so as to cover the mold material, a step of eliminating a portion of the substrate corresponding to the piezoelectric element thereby forming a space in the substrate, and a step of eliminating the mold material thereby forming the ink flow path.

Abstract:
A liquid ejection apparatus comprises a liquid bag for containing liquid to be supplied to a liquid ejection head and is adapted to generate negative pressure in the liquid ejection head by a water head difference between the liquid ejection head and the liquid bag. The liquid bag is arranged so that, of two sides of the liquid bag having the largest areas, the side facing in a direction opposite to the direction of gravity is rigidly held at least partly and the other side is freely movable. The liquid bag is provided with a means for detecting an amount of liquid remaining in the liquid bag by reference to a position of the side facing in the direction of gravity, and the detecting means is adapted to move according to the amount of liquid contained in the liquid bag.
