摘要: A resuscitator apparatus including a resilient, self-inflating squeeze bag having a single combined inlet/outlet which is preferably removably connected to a first manifold in operative communication with a substantially unbiased valve device. The first manifold includes an inlet coupling adapted for connection to a source of pressurized respiratory gas such as oxygen and an outlet coupling adapted for connection to a first end of a tubular connector. The tubular connector is desirably formed as a short, kink-resistant, flexible hinge member. The second end of the tubular connector is adapted for swiveled connection to an inlet coupling of a second manifold in operative communication with a non-rebreathing valve contained within a tubular, preferably L-shaped housing. The tubular housing includes a first leg connected to the second manifold and a second leg extending substantially perpendicular to the first leg, the second leg being adapted for connection to a subject interface member such as a breathing mask. An oxygen reservoir bag preferably formed of thin, pliable plastic surrounds the tubular connector and is sealingly attached without supplemental fasteners to the first and second manifolds. In the event the oxygen to the first supply manifold should falter, substantially unbiased valve device permits the subject immediate and unrestricted access to atmospheric air.

The apparatus includes a sensor adapted to collect data relating to a parameter of a user of the apparatus over a period of time, and a controller operatively coupled to the sensor. The controller is adapted to: (a) receive configuration information specifying a predetermined amount of valid data that is required for a sleep study to be deemed valid, (b) receive the data relating to the parameter and determine an amount of the received data that is valid, and (c) cause a study status indicator to be output by the apparatus based on the amount of the received data that is determined to be valid and the predetermined amount specified in the configuration information.

摘要: A pressure support system having enhanced noise reduction and a valve assembly for use in pressure support system. The pressure support system includes a pressure generator having an inlet and an outlet. A first conduit defining a tortuous path is coupled between a gas source and the inlet of the pressure generator. A second conduit coupled to the outlet of the pressure generator delivers the flow of gas from the pressure generator to a patient. A valve assembly communicates gas from the second conduit to the first conduit to control the pressure or a rate of the flow of gas in the second conduit. By communicating gas from the second conduit to the first conduit, the noise associated with exhausting gas from the second conduit is muffled by the tortuous path of the first conduit.

摘要: A resuscitator apparatus including a resilient, self-inflating squeeze bag having a single combined inlet/outlet which is preferably removably connected to a first manifold. The first manifold includes an outlet coupling adapted for connection to a first end of a tubular connector. The tubular connector is desirably formed as a short, kink-resistant, flexible hinge member. The flexible member is desirably fabricated as a one-piece article and may be formed of any suitable flexible material, with a preferred material being injection molded polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The flexible member includes two socket portions at each end of the flexible member for receiving first and second tubular fluid carrying conduits, a deflection resistant intermediate region and deflection sites possessing lower moments of inertia than that of the intermediate region. The intermediate region is preferably in the form of at least one crush-resistant, radially outwardly projecting flange. One of the sockets may include an annular flap sealing member to enhance sealing of the socket to one of the tubular conduits.

摘要: An infant phototherapy device comprises a housing assembly, a light source carried by the housing assembly, and a panel mode assembly including a panel mode adaptor arranged to be detachably connected with the housing assembly. The panel mode assembly further comprises an elongated flexible light pipe and a light emitting panel, the light pipe providing light communication between the light source and the light emitting panel, so that when the panel mode adaptor is connected with the housing assembly, light emitted by the light source is transmitted through the light pipe to the light emitting panel. A suspension structure is arranged to suspend the housing assembly, wherein when the panel mode adaptor is disconnected from the housing assembly and the housing assembly is suspended from the suspension structure, light emitted from the housing can be projected onto a patient.

摘要: Apparatus for delivering pressurized gas to the airway of a patient including: a gas flow generator for providing a flow of gas, a breathing appliance for sealingly communicating with the airway of the patient, and a conduit for delivery of the gas flow to the airway of the patient, the conduit having a first end connected to the gas flow generator and a second end connected to the breathing appliance. The apparatus further includes at least one sensor in fluid communication with the conduit and located substantially at the gas flow generator for detecting conditions corresponding to breathing patterns of the patient and generating signals corresponding to the conditions, and an information processor for receiving the signals and for controlling the output of the gas flow generator responsive to the signals. The apparatus further includes a gas flow pressure filter comprising a compliant chamber to reduce unwanted pressure fluctuations in the circuit to allow for the detection of desired signals, such as snore sounds.
