摘要: Systems and methods for nitric oxide generation are provided. In an embodiment, an NO generation system can include a controller and disposable cartridge that can provide nitric oxide to two different treatments simultaneously. The disposable cartridge has multiple purposes including preparing incoming gases for exposure to the NO generation process, scrubbing exhaust gases for unwanted materials, characterizing the patient inspiratory flow, and removing moisture from sample gases collected. Plasma generation can be done within the cartridge or within the controller. The system has the capability of calibrating NO and NO2 gas analysis sensors without the use of a calibration gas.

摘要: An anesthesia machine, a respiratory support device, and a ventilation control method are provided. The ventilation module provides a first gas at a first ventilation frequency and a second ventilation frequency, respectively. When the ventilation module provides the first gas to a patient at the second ventilation frequency, the ventilation module can simultaneously provide the first gas to the patient at the first ventilation frequency in at least one of the multiple second inspiratory phases. As such, this disclosure provides respiratory support for a patient by superposing ventilation modes of two different frequencies, thereby improving an elimination rate of carbon dioxide, when providing the respiratory support for the patient.

摘要: Components for a respiratory treatment apparatus that is capable of providing a humidified respiratory treatment permit a reduction in condensation in a patient interface and/or its gas delivery tubing. In some embodiments, a rainout valve that may be an integrated component of a humidifier output aperture, or coupled thereto, may reduce condensation with a vapor barrier operable to selectively block and permit humidified gas transfer from the humidifier. For example, the barrier may be operable to open in response to a flow of pressurized breathable gas that may be generated by a flow generator of the respiratory treatment apparatus. In the absence of such a generation of pressurized flow, the barrier may prevent a transfer of the humidified gas such as into a conduit for a patient interface by retracting to a closed position. Example vapor barriers may include a resilient membrane, cover, bellows, flap, shutter or other suitable valve.

摘要: There is described a ventilator for ventilating an airway of a patient. The ventilator is generally configured to perform a series of respiration cycles, wherein each respiration cycle includes the delivery of a main volume of fresh respiratory gas into the patient's airway, followed by the evacuation of a corresponding volume of used respiratory gas, and to further perform a series of subcycles during a corresponding one of the respiration cycles, wherein each subcycle includes the delivery of an auxiliary volume of fresh respiratory gas into the patient's airway, followed by the evacuation of a corresponding volume of used respiratory gas, the auxiliary volume being smaller than, and distinct from, the main volume.

摘要: A high flow nasal therapy system (1) has a gas supply (2), a nebulizer (12), and a nasal interface (7). There are two branches (11, 10) and a valve (6) linked with the controller, the branches including a first branch (11) for delivery of aerosol and a second branch (10) for delivery of non-aerosolized gas. The controller controls delivery into the branches (11, 10), in which flow is unidirectional in the first and second branches, from the gas supply towards the nasal interface. The first branch (11) includes the nebulizer (12) and a line configured to store a bolus of aerosol during flow through the second branch (10). The valve (6) comprises a Y-junction between the gas inlet on one side and the branches on the other side.
