Abstract: A Wi-Fi system includes a plurality of access points each configured to operate on a plurality of channels including Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) frequency channels and non-DFS frequency channels; and at least one access point of the plurality of access points is connected to a controller, wherein the controller is configured to coordinate usage of the plurality of channels between the plurality of access points including usage of the DFS frequency channels pursuant to predetermined DFS rules. One or more access points of the plurality of access points are configured to perform DFS measurements for a Channel Availability Check (CAC) and the DFS measurements are provided to the controller.

Abstract: Systems and methods for creating and implementing a Wi-Fi sharing community or global Wi-Fi network are provided. According to one implementation, a method includes a step of providing, for an owner of each of a plurality of independent Wi-Fi networks, an opportunity to enroll as a member of a Wi-Fi sharing community. For enrollment, each member agrees to designate a portion of bandwidth of the member's Wi-Fi network for use by other members as a hotspot. Also, the method includes a step of issuing a digital certificate to each member to allow the member to utilize any Wi-Fi network in the Wi-Fi sharing community.

Abstract: Systems and methods for home security include monitoring people and Wi-Fi client devices that connect and operate on a Wi-Fi network; and, responsive to an event, providing information related to people currently at a home associated with the Wi-Fi network. The method can include, prior to the monitoring, associating a person to one or more of the Wi-Fi client devices. The present disclosure leverages the ubiquitous deployment of Wi-Fi networks to provide various functions related to home security, elder care, safety, wellness, monitoring, and the like via a Wi-Fi network, and particularly by monitoring who is home, including even what room, location, etc. users are located.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for using multiple Wi-Fi radios at different frequency bands to maintain full rate through a leaf node. One exemplary method detects when a client device connects to a first Wi-Fi component over a new fronthaul link and determines Wi-Fi communication capabilities of the client device. Based on the Wi-Fi communication capabilities, the method determines which one of the current topology and a new topology of the Wi-Fi network would result in greater throughput of packets through the Wi-Fi network. When it is determined that the new topology would result in greater throughput, the method includes adjusting the topology by designating one of a first radio and a second radio of the first Wi-Fi component for communication over a backhaul link with one or more other Wi-Fi components and designating the other of the first radio and second radio for communication over the new fronthaul link.

Abstract: Systems and methods include obtaining measurements from a Wi-Fi network that includes i) a plurality of access points interconnected to one another and at least one connected to a gateway, and ii) a plurality of Wi-Fi client devices that each connect to an access point of the plurality of access points; learning usage patterns in the Wi-Fi network through analysis with one or more machine learning algorithms; and providing a configuration to the Wi-Fi network based on the learned usage pattern where the configuration includes a topology of the plurality of access points.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining whether dissimilar device identifiers in a network actually represent the same physical device. A method, according to one implementation, includes obtaining first and second sets of operational parameters related to first and second set of devices operating in a section of a network. The first and second sets of operational parameters include first and second sets of device identifiers representing the first and second sets of devices, respectively. The method also includes comparing the first set of device identifiers with the second set of device identifiers to find non-matching device identifiers. With respect to the non-matching device identifiers, the first and second sets of operational parameters are analyzed to determine if a device identifier of the first set of device identifiers and a device identifier of the second set of device identifiers likely represent the same device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for optimizing a cluster of Wi-Fi networks operating within a vicinity of each other are provided. In one implementation, a method includes detecting a cluster of Wi-Fi networks operating independently of each other, where the cluster is defined in that each Wi-Fi network includes a wireless transceiver configured to receive at least a minimum amount of signal power from one or more other wireless transceivers of one or more other Wi-Fi networks of the cluster. The method includes determining a plurality of Wi-Fi networks of the cluster that are enabled for cooperative optimization. Also, the method includes assigning a Wi-Fi channel selected from a plurality of available Wi-Fi channels to each of the wireless transceivers associated with the plurality of Wi-Fi networks enabled for cooperative optimization to reduce a total amount of potential interference in the cluster caused by the signal power received from independently-operated wireless transceivers.

Abstract: Systems and methods include a cloud controller communicatively coupled to one or more distributed Wi-Fi networks and configured to manage the one or more distributed Wi-Fi networks. The cloud controller includes a network interface communicatively coupled to the distributed Wi-Fi networks; one or more processors communicatively coupled to the network interface; and memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the one or more processors to: determine a new topology state for a topology of Wi-Fi network from a current topology state based on management of the Wi-Fi network; cause one or more nodes to change to new associated parent nodes based on the new topology state; cause an update to a configuration of the one or more nodes based on the new topology state; and continue to change additional nodes to new associated parent nodes based on the new topology state until the new topology state is obtained.
