Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) and a base station may support beamforming communication techniques and may communicate using one or more beams. The UE may support a bandwidth part (BWP) hopping pattern and may perform a beam failure detection (BFD) procedure across the supported BWPs. While performing the BFD procedure, the UE may declare beam failure and may determine whether to switch to an anchor BWP to initiate a beam failure recover (BFR) procedure or to remain on an active BWP to initiate the BFR procedure. In some implementations, the UE may determine whether to switch to the anchor BWP or to remain on the active BWP to initiate the BFR procedure based on an indication from the base station.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a configuration of a minimum slot offset based at least in part on a determination of a minimum wake-up signal (WUS) gap capability associated with the UE, wherein the minimum WUS gap capability corresponds to a capability of the UE to support a WUS gap having a minimum gap size, wherein the minimum slot offset indicates a minimum time period between a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) occasion and a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) occasion scheduled by the PDCCH; and monitor the PDCCH occasion for a downlink grant based at least in part on the configuration. For example, a media access control (MAC) architecture for a base station (e.g., an enhanced Node B) and associated access terminals (e.g., UEs) can take the power needs of the access terminals into account when scheduling the access terminals. In some aspects, an access terminal may support a particular frame structure for a low power mode. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using multiple receivers and receive an indication from the base station to activate a second bandwidth part of a set of bandwidth parts configured for the UE. In response to the indication, the UE may switch from operating in a first bandwidth part to operating in the second bandwidth part and adjust a quantity of active receivers at the UE based on switching from operating in the first bandwidth part to operating in the second bandwidth part. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may adjust the quantity of active receivers at the UE based on monitoring for downlink grants from the base station.

Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein permit a user equipment (UE) to transition among different power configurations, which include different values for different power parameters, that impact an amount of power consumed by the UE. In some aspects, these transitions may be signaled by a base station based at least in part on traffic volume for the UE, which may assist with improving throughput and/or extending battery life of the UE. Furthermore, these transitions may be signaled dynamically, such as in downlink control information (DCI) and/or a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) MAC-CE, which may conserve battery power and/or network resources as compared to reconfiguring the UE using an RRC message, and which may allow the UE to be reconfigured quickly as conditions associated with the UE change.
